I know it's extremely contentious, but to me it's not an RPG.
Saying

is obviously wrong to me. You play the role of Masterchief in Halos but it's clearly not an RPG. Having extensive dialogue options like in a Telltale game is not an RPG.

It's the combination of the player defining the character's personality and playstyle that makes an RPG.
IMO Planescape Torment is an RPG, even if you have to play the same character, simply because he's an amnesiac with a blank-slate personality you get to decide on and you can choose very different classes/playstyles.
Kingdom Come is borderline, but I feel there's not quite enough player decision on Henry's personality and not enough distinction between the different combat playstyles. It's in the same boat as Witcher 3.

I've been thinking about this since VTMB2. VTMB1 is an RPG, but VTMB2 takes away player choice to define personality, background, motivation and mechanics playstyle enough it's no longer an RPG.

It's all over very quickly. There's nothing new introduced to the game unlike with the previous 2 DLCs and you spend most of the time "stealthing" away from the guards because everyone's on lockdown so at some point I found a dead guard body, tried to wear his armour (you don't have your armour or weapons after entering the monastery) and the guards still knew I wasn't supposed to be there. It would've made sense in the RPG context that I could now blend in but no this DLC is dogshit and this fucking game sucks.

Whenever the mc speaking to a Jewish character, Henry somehow loses the ability to disagree or insult them. You can tell off plenty of other characters. Not the Jewish ones. It's especially funny in Kuttenberg because you can walk around the Jewish quarter and listen to ambient conversations, but ssshhh, you're not allowed to react to them. Then there's the plantation owner, who rants about burning the enemies of Israel, and all you can do is verbally nod along. It really stands out.

You can't tell off Musa either.

Did the sequel sell well? I remember the first one doing well because everything about it was new for a lot of people who hadn't played an RPG that immersive before. Feels like I heard 1/10th of the same hype for the sequel as I did the original, but I imagine it's likely because the people who played the first didn't want any more after they finished it.

Which was my original thoughts as well I guess. Setting was pretty interesting, but I found the story to be really slow and dull, the combat to be WOAT and a large chunk of the side quests to not be really engaging too. I wanted to like it and I could tell there was a lot of love put into it, but by the end all I could do was shrug. I wouldn't say it was an overall waste of time, but man, rough at times. fuck the church segment in particular
