E33 is a good game, I had a good time with it. The story was really interesting and I think the party was generally likeable even if Lune and the brown bitch had zero presence for most of the game. The combat felt very sloppily designed tho. On hard you can never survive more than one attack which means defense buffs and healing were kinda useless. A good JRPG will let you find an optimal way to do damage and then keep throwing stones in your path and make it hard for you to achieve it. For example: SMT can devolve into just hitting enemy's weaknesses over and over or buffing up and using a giant physical attack but a lot of encoutners will throw enemies at you that are immune to the weakness of another enemy on the field thus preventing you from AoE'ing, give enemies counters/null physical or attacks that purge all buffs/debuffs. (You can still easily break the game but at least the game is trying)E33 doesn't really do that at all. Because you can dodge or parry everything, every fight is just going through your character's optimal damage rotation and spamming revive items when you fuck up. It's not very thoughtful.

The OST isn't that good, composition seems pretty standard but I will preface by saying that I personally despise heavily vocal driven soundtracks, it's a major pet peeve of mine. That French woman's crooning became like nails on a chalkboard, the poor sound mixing on the dev's part didn't help either, OST was unnecessarily loud during scenes. I'd say even fromsoft's been getting worse in this regard, where too many of the boss encounters in elden ring are flippydippy anime bullshit. But there's still a ton of variety, and beyond the combat the game also offers exploration that feels great on a first playthrough (no good rewards beyond the initial exploration itself though). E33 just has no point of interaction beyond the QTEs, just a shitass story that no person who actually reads books cares about. It's an insanely anemic game.
