Classes are explorers with some missing like cleric and page with modern skills. Mobs are mostly from classic. I think only a few of the bosses are from modern, at least from what I've seen.. You can see other players on your map and there's a town hub where you can see other players (and socialize with if they're not idle) as well, which is kind of reminiscent of classic.

We have no idea about any of the meta and even the test is only going to give us so much to go forward with. Meta could shift massively if/when 3rd and 4th job releases so you are just going to have to take the risk whatever you plan on playing long term. I'll likely go with one of the warriors since I find high HP pool to be something I can't really steer away from and just being simple to play in general. Haven't decided which one yet as I am waiting for footage and information from the closed test to start putting more thought behind it.

The appeal is being a contrarian fuck and forever living in a sin's shadow. But Strafe is very cool, and the Hawk/Eagle summon's stun is nice. Arrows are also WAY cheaper than stars, though you get no bonus attack when using Soul Arrow compared to a sin's Shadow Stars for whatever fucking reason.

Honestly, I have a pretty strong yearning for pre-4th job maplestory.
That's something none of the private servers like Royals or Legends could capture because they had 4th job, which is when the game is ruined.
Back when it was just 3rd job, the leveling meta was grind parties at Ludibrium. I never got to participate back in the day cause I didn't level that far, but it would've been good fun. I actually fondly remember the post-BB 2012 days because of the LHC grind parties.

Grinding hasn't been fun in a long time and they've accepted it as every class has a unified summon skill that kills the entire map as long as you attack every 5 seconds. The bossing is still genuinely good and upgrading gear can be a fun dopamine hit but it's not worth it without botting honestly.
