Don’t be afraid to fight, just don’t do it in the first minute cause you likely won’t get anything from it, unless you see a paper star jester, in which case it’s mandatory. End on a bulk star once your stats are good if you want a really good all rounder (warp star is also really good if you’re stats are really nice) or go for jet star cause that’s really good on susie. And lastly, it’s city trial, you’ll eat shit sometimes but the game is so chaotic that you’ll probably still win or come close in a stadium.

It makes it way easier, even with the shitty sword (it's not a bad ability but it doesn't do much damage).Also, and this is what I just do, I never go after guys with just one part unless I have two parts. I only go after players with two parts, or if I have a part or two, I let them come to me. This is because I'd rather be gathering stats in the meantime, even when I did succeed doing the whole "chase after a guy with the single dragoon piece" schtick twice and formed the thing, my stats were only like 50-70. I heard Waddle-Doo sucks, so I've been playing as him a lot. He's actually pretty fun.He shares most of his stats with other lightweights (i.e. improved boost, charge, and lift), but he sacrifices turn and grip for an auto-attack. It seems like a poor trade at first, he handles comparatively worse and his beams do little damage. However, his beams have good utility. They cover a wide area in front him and are sufficient at breaking item boxes and killing regular enemies. Also, his special grants him extra speed while also hitting nearly every enemy in front of him, granting additional speed boosts. It lasts for a decent time, too.He's good at single races, and he consistently top-scores in Kirby Melee. His special regularly puts me 20-30 points above 2nd. As for machines, he's good with boost/lift-focused stars (e.g. Shadow, Slick, Paper) and the lighter wheeled machines (Bike, Scooter, Chariot).
