What do the new modes add? How much of a ballbuster would it be? Most of these deaths were to the endboss, it took me at least an hour on its own.Playing with just the pure starting movement and no backup HP so you have to learn boss patterns really shows you how much thought goes into their gameplay design. Rude Enemies is a more intricate difficulty modifier that gives enemies more threatening attacks and some bosses entirely new ones, most notably you-know-who and the final boss. Master Levels is a set of entirely new level layouts that's basically a second quest. There's also Circuit Mode which just makes Bursts cast from hit points if you run out of meter, and Flip Mode which literally flips the screen upside down as a meme. They can be combined freely, and if you do HM+RE+ML on a New Game+ file with all the upgrades it's a tough but manageable challenge. Doing it without upgrades would probably be a real kick in the dick.And I totally agree with your sentiment. GC is a very thoughtful game, both with its challenges and its concessions. Everything feels fair and there's a surprising amount of thought put into how the player will be feeling at certain points of the game. It's legitimately a 10/10 game in my book.
