I’ve had an idea for a game series inspired by Super Sentai for a while now. Aside from me being a retard who knows nothing about making games (yet), the main problem I have with it is I don’t know what I could put into it without getting sued. Could I have multicolored suited heroes who do poses and a role call? Could they have combining vehicles or weapons? Could I call them rangers? I don’t know where the line between homage/parody and legal battle begins. Plus, even if Toei doesn’t give a shit, Hasbro could try to fuck me in the ass or vice versa. I know in Japan there are a bunch of Sentai parodies out there so maybe Toei wouldn’t care, but Hasbro seems like the kind of assholes that would go after you.

The most interesting bits I’ve thought about are things like fleshing out the setting and ideas about how to incorporate villain of the week episodic plots while still trying to have a strong overarching narrative that would fit the structure of a jrpg. Obviously the rangers would have their own theme like jetman with birds and zyuranger with dinosaurs. I have a few ideas for these since, like I said, I pictured it as a series. The first one would probably be something simple like sci-fi or ancient civilizations, but I have more out there theme ideas like for a cinema themed team where all the characters are actors and each one is based on a certain movie genre.

Personally Car robo has to be one of my favorite transformations for the reasons stated above.
