I can't. It's too addicting. It's a massive time sink. Even with all the QoL improvements to make traveling around easier the end-game is still a massive grind for everything, and so much of that grind is having to do busywork old content just to meet the basic requirements for ultimate weapons for example. For example if you want to build a Mythic, just to get it to il119 you have to grind through days / weeks of farming and doing shit to meet all the requirements, then need to have tens of millions of gil or weeks farming alexandrite or whatever other mats you need to upgrade. I love this game though, I got it for the PS2 in 2005 and played it almost non stop until 2008 or 2009, soon after treasures of aht urghan came out. Then I played it again around 2015-16 and it had changed so much by then it was practically a different game.

That, plus all the mats I needed to farm made me realize shit I don't want to do this anymore. I get why they have such grinds, they need to keep the players playing and subscribed so the game can stay alive, but jesus the grinds in FFXI are some of the worst in any MMO ever. Onion Sword is an ok choice for DNC as Fast Blade II is essentially a Savage Blade that won't add to the WS wall on hard fights, but that's it (we are talking certain Sheol bosses only, here) - so that's niche. Everything eise is just for fun. You can make an argument for Dragon Fangs if you don't have any REMA for PUP, but don't waste your time taking them for MNK as Godhands is still miles ahead of everything (including the Prime weapon, even).

Part of what made 75 era XI so alluring is that there was so much stuff in the game that I was just years away from seeing, like who knew if I'd ever see Divine Might or One to be Feared in person? They were these mythical things that you heard stories about but felt like they could be years in the future for you.Now that I've played 119 cap and seen every inch of Vana'diel and seen how all the stories play out, I'm not sure it would be the same going back to 75 and having to struggle to see all the same stuff. There are many QoL features added that make the game easier, XP rates are different (including party size restrictions), drop rates, and even job changes that are one moderations fanfic version of what he wants the game to be.I've fucked around on Horizon with friends that were too stubborn to get retail, I've also spent roughly 20,000 hours playing XI during the 75 years. Horizon and honest to god 2005 Retail are not the same, not even close.

>>727671727There's not a lot of official art to reference (and even some later official artists kind of give up and give them normal noses) but I think it's pretty clear that it's supposed to be a catlike nose, slightly flatter than a human with the underside being the darkest. Yuccoshi will always be my god for the way he draws Mithra bodies but he just gives them average noses and leaves the underside uncolored.
