I upgraded my PC, yet I still spend 90% of my gaming time on my launch model Steam Deck.

It's the sheer convenience of pick up and play for me - I can just turn on my Steam Deck and play my Steam library as I please. It's pretty cool.
>>
You're STILL shilling a 4 year old tablet?
>>
>>727635113
same but my phone
>>

Plays 90% of my Steam Library + I can plug into my TV (+ LAN) to play Hitman 3 over Apollo.
>>

Same. I actually just ordered an AYN Thor and I suspect it's going to take over Deck duties once it gets here, or maybe soon after. X86 Windows emulation on Android is approaching where it was on Linux around the time Deck first shipped.

I came to realize, there's two classes of PC games without a lot of overlap, the ones that are great for portable play and Deck is actually overpowered for them, and the ones that aren't so great for portable play and Deck isn't nearly powerful enough or doesn't have good enough hardware, mainly screen resolution being the problem.

Thor is like 75% as fast as Deck factoring in emulation, so it should cover all the portable-friendly games, while my new laptop will handle everything more demanding. My monster desktop is reserved for work, AI, and VR.

I mean a laptop more or less does the same thing. you open the lid and start playing. you can also take it anywhere.

This is so retarded like, "Why would somebody need a truck? I can't carry a truck!"
>>
>>727636345
you can fuck your gf while she's on your laptop in your bed. your gf will think ur a kiddie freak if u give her a fucking steam gameboy.
>>
With all the deck shilling you'd believe it's popular
but it only sold 4 million units, the ps vita was a failure and it sold 3 times more than that
>>
>>727636630
actually planning in ur head trying not to get laughed at by your "future gf"
>>
>>727636504
Huh? It's almost like a compact car has unique uses and a truck has other unique uses. When I want to game on the couch, which device is more suited, retard?
>>
>>727635394
I didn't fucking ask
>>
>>727635113
wait until you try an actual handheld that you can actually easily slip in an out of your pocket and play literally anywhere, unlike the steambrick
>>
>>727635113
I have a desktop gaming PC but for some reason I REALLY want a Steam Deck for gaming in bed despite the fact I will never use the Deck outdoors

based and true. Steam deck cured a lot of PC vegans. Unfortunately a lot of them will never realize KB+M is not conducive to playing video games
>>
>>727636778
the vita was in stores. the deck sold through supply
>>727639265
you can stream from pc to an android tablet or you can get a chinkheld
>>
>>727636630

>>
>>727642414
KB/M is perfect or required for some games.
Others are better with joysticks, and anything N64 or dual stick is dogshit without a controller.
You need to have both if you want to play all games.
"Just let me PWM the arrow keys to drive", "the analog stick is perfect to play RTS games" are both things said by mad men.
Also you're fooling yourself if you think any generic usb joystick will do.
Need to be either a console controller or a console clone controller.

the controller is a jack of all trades, master of none. there are few games that are designed for it. the majority of controller games dont even use the right stick and play better on arcade stick. the controller games that use the right stick play better on kbm for the most part. bringing up racing games is like bringing up guitar hero bc they're designed for a peripheral

One of the main appeals of the Steam Deck is having full keyboard binds + mouse at your fingertips. Try playing F.E.A.R on just Xbox controls, then try playing it with gyro+trackpad+touch menus.

lol what a loser
>>
>>727643853
Triple A games are mostly shit anyway. I just play confy indie gamea on my deck and it works perfect.

>>727643240
Ive started bringing mine to work since kve got a lot of down time between doing things and nobody has made fun of me yet.
>>
>>727643661
he is
the sole advantage the controller has is the left thumbstick
and pic related plus a mouse gives you the best of both worlds, the thumbstick and access to a fuckload of buttons

the only game i have that requires me to plug in my keyboard is elona, and even then i still could technically play it on a pad, but it's 100x more cumbersome and key features like diagonal directional inputs are either not possible or also additionally cumbersome to do
>>
>>727635205
Yeah.
>>
>>727643056
>Also you're fooling yourself if you think any generic usb joystick will do.
pretty ironic since generic usb pads are a million times better than the pozzed trannoid console shits
>>
>>727644467
I tried that before and the recliner was so low compared ot the height of the keyboard on a standard size desk for non hobbits to be unusable
>>
>>727643853
if you also have a pc you can just stream to it and have it perform way above it's weight class.
>>
I just plug my pc into my tv. Now i can't bear watching down on some tiny ass screen.
Also, who the fuck still plays handhelds in the open? Only good for taking on holidays i suppose.
>>
bro is still playing on a gameboy lmao
