I think likely scenario is that you beat heavyweights and become "champion", they congratulate you, then try to gank you afterwards and events lead to you going deep underneath the Arcadion where Wicked Thunder is being held and thats where M12 is fought, but we just don't know what it's gonna be besides NOT Metem.

Like in Fellowship of the Ring, the first half of that book is just walking past all these ancient ruins and roads and seeing what has already come and gone, and there's the part in Lothlorien where they get a glimpse of what the world once was, and it hurts them emotionally to leave it behind. The focus on that kind of stuff is what I like from fantasy stories. In FF1 when you find the Mirage Tower and you notice the designs on the walls, and the robots, and you get to the top and realize it's a crumbling space elevator and it hits you just how much has been lost, that kind of thing is magical to me and it's just not something sci-fi is about. Sci-fi is still very human and has wonderful stories, but they're different.
