i think I get what the >E33 has no plotfag is trying to say, and to some extent I can kind of see what he means by that: none of the drama and melancholy of Acts 1 and 2 matters after you get the revelations of Act 3, since none of that is real real, its just a made up world and the plot ends up in a weird variation of "it was all in le head" trope. (Painted) Lumiere did not matter, your romanceable characters did not matter and hell, Verso doesn't either since the real one is dead and its all a made-up world created by a child and maintained by a depressed mom.You could argue that the game MIGHT've trying to push something like >"hey but who gets to decide whats real or not? ;)"but it doesn't really work since the plot quite literally does not bring any convincing points to not burn the whole painting down and just have Maelle go on with her life. Also doesn't help that none of the painted characters (aside from Verso) do actually grasp what it means to be just a creation of a higher being, they never question themselves and their reality and just go along with the plan of beating up Renoir into submission, it was kind of jarring imo
