When people think Jurassic Park, they're not thinking "horrible chimeras built out of disparate genetic data from frogs, lizards, crocodiles, sharks, and who knows what else, with extremely minute traces of dinosaur genes if any". They're thinking just straight up dinosaurs. So, as our understanding of dinosaurs changes, they change the designs of the creatures in Jurassic Park to match our understanding. But they were never dinosaurs.

In general we are pretty sure that many of the little dinos were feathery, but we also are pretty sure the big fat fucks like t rex, brontosaurus etc didn't have them and were scaly skinned. Because we have skin impressions of parts all over a t rex and can see they did not have them. Artists also are not paleontologists and neither are game designers, they just head "feathers" and think "oh like birds then" when not really, they were more like fur except for ones that had some kind of flight/gliding ability. We know because there is a bit of amber out there with a baby dino tail piece stuck in it (amazingly) and the feathers look like fuzz.There were a couple big dinos that had feathers but they were again much more like a kind of fur and they had it because they lived in climates similar to Canada or Siberia.. so actually needed it. Normally fur would cause overheating in a warm blooded animal that big which is why elephants and rhinos don't have fur (but once again mammoths etc did)
