Now go make the Lorax cry, by paving over nature:

Planning on it, but my mother passed last year and my sister was killed by a drunk driver so if I off myself while dad's still around, the grief would probably make him kill himself. I gotta wait til he kicks the bucket

He's gonna be so pissed at you when you reach hell

I doubt it, I'm gonna die in a homemade tomb & hire a craigslist wiccan to perform Egyptian funerary rites so all my stockpiled guns & ammo come with me. Then I can equip an army to topple Hell & build strip malls

i made my dream falling sand game using claude, with all kinds of exotic sand types and emergent interactions
yall can't play it though, would be like pearls before swine

I'd love to vibe code my own game but I want to make it be webgl and the AI does not comprehend how to handle multiplayer in this setting.
Yes, I've tried multiple times with a variety of agents (Claude, Gemini, a few different local models) over the course of a year and a half. We always fumble around the same spot every time.

It'll get smarter. Be patient with baby Skynet

It always goes like this.
Ask to make X. Wow it works.
Ask to fix the bugs that it made in X. After 30 tries, it still didn't fix the bugs.

Do you feel like a hero yet?

Yeah, AI dev still faceplants any time you try getting it to reliably thread state between clients in real time. I hit the exact wall trying to get Photon-style lobby systems working-Claude confidently spat out broken async handlers and Gemini hallucinated half the API. At this point I just use AI to scaffold boilerplate and handhold it the rest of the way like it’s a sleep-deprived intern with a Vendetta Against WebSockets.

It has better odds if you ask it to make one or two changes per "turn".

I recently used AI to teach myself multiplayer coding for an RTS, which I always believed was a little too complex for my brain to handle. But it seriously helps so much being able to have an instant answer to every roadblock, so it accelerates the learning process.

You're still the guy in the driver's seat, you have to wrap your brain around everything 100% or it won't work. Vibe coding only works on a small scale, it ALWAYS falls to pieces if you're creating something you don't understand, because programs are fragile. Even if you understand something 99% then that 1% that you don't understand will inevitably screw you over.

It'll continue getting smarter thoughbeit. Don't fall into presentism. Just because the alternative to eternal AI stasis/stagnation is unfathomable & frightening doesn't mean it will actually stop improving for our sake.

I agree but everyone does live in the present. In the next 5 years, instead of saying "vibe coding only works on a small scale" I might be saying "Vibe coding only works on a medium scale".
I think it's a waste of time arguing with ai haters about the future of AI, they're all very unintelligent, either consumed by doomerism or pessimism or communism.
When creating things, we're living in the present so what matters is knowing the strengths and weaknesses of our current tools.

I did narrow it down to one bug at a time obviously but it's still shit
