months ago I playtest what seems to be the next sonic game. From what I know, they've only done 2 playtest so this one was supposed to be the last one since the game is coming out next year. Keep in mind, I have 0 idea when this is being announced. Moving on.

>One full island divided into 5 areas being a jungle zone, ice zone, seaside zone, forest and one in the middle being a cloud zone.
>The game looks similar to Mario Odyssey in graphics but island wise it looks like the devs took inspiration from Avatar since the island looks like Pandora
>Barely any context on the story, but from I could understand there is some sort of lost 8th chaos emerald
>We only got to play the first area being the jungle
>Full exploration with platforms and puzzles around the surface, caves and trees which you can get by bouncing on a tree branch, rails or platforms
>Boost through the island and use a spin dash to gain more speed
>A new swing mechanic and parkour but I didn't find a way to use the swing in the open world
>There are time travel signs that once you activate them you have to collect orbs scattered around the place that give you points, once you get enough points, a portal appears in front of you. when I got inside of the portal the island changed from green to grey and there was fire around
>There was a village and some npcs around the land that looked like Forces avatars
>Combat is back and feels like the one from bayonetta
>There were 2 linear levels we got to play one being fully 3D and other one fully 2D that you access via portal rings, the linear levels boost lets you destroy enemies compared to the open world and it let you use this swing mechanic to get into different routes, also, the spin dash is disabled here except for the 2D level for some reason?
>I was only able to play as Sonic and I have no idea if there are any other character around
>They didn't give any official name for this, only the work in progress title being Sonic Onyx
