I feel bad for younger generations that didn't experience rapid technological or aesthetic advancement and what it was like to "be there" when something was new. It's impossible to imagine for them. Something like the NES era would've been insane. You're going from board games to magic worlds inside your TV. But now it just looks like beep boop pixel shit to us. The N64 and PS2 were the same. Mario 64 was uncannily convincing and looked like a clay world in your TV. The n64 controller looked space aged especially with a thumb stick. But now N64 is a blurry low frame rate mess and the controller is absurd. But this is a completely different reality than the one people experienced owning the console.
