>>727658360how did he miss with a shotgun at close to point-blank range
>>727658225Looks like shit... Jagged lines everywhere, unrealistic lighting. Those jagged lines would be exasperated 10x during movement. With DLSS none. Fuck your shit game.

>>727658225I assume you run through this corridor in 10 seconds, with zero interactivity. I wouldn't be surprised if most of what you see is pre-rendered and baked-in with smoke and mirrors If there is an actual gunfight encounter here or something, then shame on me. My point is that this isn't an open world, this is a tiny box alongside other tiny boxes that eventually end with a 30-second loading screen that leads to another line of boxes.tl;dr: muh grafix

>>727658225because you'd get tired of that aesthetic after 5 games and it's not type of graphics and design that can be repurposed for everything

>all the assblasted ai pajeets knowing they will never be able to replicate what Mirror's Edge did in two decades agoAnd by replicating I mean doing something equivalent for current year, not making the exact same game today. But you only know how to slap Quixel assets in a premade UE5 scene and shipping it then asking the consoomer to get a 5090

>>727658640>unrealistic lightingHoly shit just go outside or something, nobody fucking cares. We're not playing fucking video games for their accurate reflections of every day life you retard. >uhm ahkshually this game didn't accurately simulate light particles bouncing off my tiny balls
>>727665468>>>/mlp/
>>727658225Because people like dynamic lighting.
Graphical rendering is evolving to just straight up simulate at real time a lot of looks/phenomena that previously were faked or pre-baked since doing it at runtime was prohibitively expensive.Mirrors edge for example WAS prebaked ray-tracing but it had to be prebaked because it was legit impossible to render in realtime. Nowadays everything in that image theoretically could be done at runtime and dynamically which is mighty impressive on a technical level but it comes with the caveat that it's a massive leap for a end result similar to something we already had.
>>727658994Physics, nigger. She kicked him really hard and transferred all the kinetic energy.
why did they even waste time on combat at all? all the game had to be was being a courier and get thing to destination fastthe time trials were vastly more fun than the campaign
>>727658994You would be absolutely dogshit at billiards.
>>727666067>Nowadays everything in that image theoretically could be done at runtime and dynamicallyDon't let nVidia fool you. Even their "path tracing" is a two ray joke. The baked mirror's edge will have relied on thousands upon thousands of bounced rays to get all those soft colored lights caused by white light bouncing off colored surfaces. The way path tracing manages to fake it in "real time" is by casting a tiny tiny fraction of the necessary rays then using AI denoising to turn it into a smeary blob and then slowly resolve the detail over several frames. Touch the camera or change a light and the whole simulation falls over and dies. At the pace they are going we're still 10 years away from realtime path tracing and if all we can do is fake it with DLSS I'd rather they faked it with multiple bakes and tweens to simulate dynamic lighting.
>>727658225only good thing that might happen with ai slop is devs forced to optimize/make simpler looking game reenforced with a strong art style and focusing on substance over surface. But we know what's gonna be pushed instead is cloud gayming slop.Or worth, with the economy spiralling out of control peasants like us won't have time for frivolities such as games, gotta work to feed the ai centers! And go to war to reduce population numbers!Nuke this world
