When did you lose faith in them?
>>
Clearly not many have. Pokemon is the most valuable IP in the entire world.
>>
About 5 minutes ago when I remembered the NSO game vouchers have an expiry date of a year.

When they sued an indie game dev for making a better game than they did

When Mario Kart World turned out to be a piece of crap and the majority of the fanbase asked Nintendo to fix it with a few simple changes and Nintendo said ha ha no

Until that point I could forgive some of their weirder decisions but I really doubt their sanity these days
>>
Latter half of the Wii's cycle. When it became apparent they were obsessed at winning the casual market over actual gamers.
>>
When the Nintendo 64 came out and it became apparent that many games that I liked at the time and could find on the SNES (i.e., fighting games) weren't coming to that system, and the games that were coming out and getting hyped up were games that I didn't care about (FPSs).

OK. So did you lose faith in them, then? If not, why are you here?
>>
What's the last really GREAT game that nintendo made? Not like decent fun game or good sequel I mean a GREAT game that's the pinnacle of it's genre?

haven't played but I just don't believe you

The sweltering summer of 2004
I was a young boy excited for a new game called Artifact
Then 2 evil men came along in a Valve and Nintendo suit. They promised me a great future.
It was a summer of betrayal I will never forget
>>
I stopped caring forever ago. I just felt like jerking your chain

When i realized their games lost all personality.
It was sometime after KI: Uprising, that's the last game i can remember having some soul to it.

Social media has primed an environment where this type of degeneracy is not only accepted, it thrives. Social media desensitizes and radicalizes even moderates into believing heinous and abhorrent behavior is acceptable under the correct context. Spend just 5 minutes on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, you will find hordes of these deranged people. They exist among us. The FBI knows about them but never acts until it is far too late. Western society is on a one-way fast track to collapse as long as social media continues to destroy minds and decay the culture.

That's probably the answer for me. I felt totally cucked by my xbox360 and PS3 friends. The Wii is also where nintendo went all in on the obnoxious hardware gimmicks that have since defined it. Would it kill them to just make a normal console with normal controllers and current gen performance?
>>

After the Wii. I knew the company had no future.
>>

They should have died with the Gamecube. In a just world the Wii would have flopped and the PSP would have raped them out of the hardware business.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe IMO.
DK Bonanza came close, but a handful of fundamental issues hold it back.
>>
Never
For all their faults they're still the only publisher and manufacturer in the industry that continues to release overall high quality games consistently, and hardware that is affordable and reasonable to pay for
Their only bad era eas the wii u era, as much as snoy shitposters will cry about how great it was it was dogshit

Seething snoy

One point worth making is how they raped pokemon into the ground. I wouldn't feed those games to my dog. I wouldn't feed those games to my dog going back like 4 generations.

Around the wii-u / 3ds era when iwata died. The wii and ds oozed style and soul, both having huge and very fun libraries (yes with some shovelware like the ps2), but the wii-u and 3ds were like mgs2 to the wii/ds' mgs1, Interesting concepts that fall flat. They both needed more robust games on their systems. It's telling that the switch's first 2-3 years was almost exclusively wii-u releases and they sold well. Anyway fuck nintendo, didnt but a switch, wont buy a swirch 2.

current year nintendo games are like those dogs that are so overly domesticated they have weird bone problems and need to see a dog psychologist for their anxiety issues you know what I mean?

Starring Robert Downey Jr. as Artifact Fanbase
Paul Rudd as Valve Employee #1
And Larry David as Gabe Newell
>Robert Downey Jr in a dimly-lit room: "They would never betray the Artifact fanbase... right?"
>Paul Rudd on the phone at Valve HQ: "Sir, we can't betray the Artifact fanbase. Steam would never do such a thing."
>Larry David wearing a fat suit on a yacht: "Betray the Artifact fanbase. They are but goyim born to be betrayed."
Artifact - A Tale of Betrayal (coming in theaters 2026)

It was a gradual process, starting with Xenoblade 3 being neutered compared to 2 and having a conspicuous large amount of brownskins including a main party member (who's paired with a white girl), then Fire Emblem Engage being censored on a level not seen since Fates, then Charles Martinet getting demoted out of nowhere and replaced with pronounfags, then the Another Code collection blackwashing characters, then the Paper Mario TTYD remaster trooning Vivian, then the Xenoblade X remaster globalizing the Wii U version's censorship. And yet even with all that, I still stayed on Nintendo on the condition they at least continue letting me have my weeb games and maybe the occasional Kirby or Metroid game, and then this happened. This was the final straw. I'm not supporting Snoy 2.0.
