>upscaling is a technological invention that allows weaker hardware to perform better >The hardware that mainly benefits from upscaling is new hardware, like the 40 and 50 series>Gtx 1080ti the best gpu of 2017 had $700 msrp>Rtx 5090 has $2000>5080, a $1000+ gpu, 16gb vramEverything is ridiculously expensive. Only people with money can't have problems.
>Cyberpunk this, Cyberpunk that.>Can this GPU play Cyberpunk?>You should buy the new GPU. It plays Cyberpunk better.Only the stupidest of goyslop games require either DLSS, RTX or both.If you're not goycattle, you don't need a goycattle GPU.
>>727665790I just want a graphics card that plays overwatch and skyrim.
>>727665646A similar issue happened with overclockingYou used to buy a Core i5 and overclock it to match or even surpass a much more expensive Core i7. But then Intel and AMD realized they could make even more money so they locked down hard their CPUs so manual overclocking is basically not a thing anymore. The only chips that allow overclocking anymore are the absolute highest end models where you pay extra just to manually overclock.
>>727666180>The only chips that allow overclocking anymore are the absolute highest end models where you pay extra just to manually overclock. The i5 and i7 lines were already like that, you needed the K models to overclock which cost extra.
>>727665646>a technological invention that allows weaker hardware to perform betterlol wasn't this benchmark with a 4090 the most powerful gpu at the time?
Tried this shit on wuwa. It has 120fps cap, but when you enable x2-4 framegen, motion becomes more smooth without visible bugs. Why? Because my monitor is 240hz?
>>727666779Turn on v-sync
>>727666180The CPU I paid $133 USD for can overclock on a B760 motherboard.
>>727667482It is on, vrr too
>>727665646>Almost 100fps but has worse latency than 30fps
>>727667570
>>727667570We buying TEMU now?
>>727665646Well, obviously you can't polish a turd...
this ONE CRAZY TRICK that nvidia DOESN'T want YOU to know about!!!!!!!
I don't care because I play at 1080p and turn off ray tracing.
>>727667602In that case, it just feels smoother because you're playing at a frame rate that matches your screen refresh rate, even though some of these frames are fake. You can absolutely feel the difference between 120 and 240 FPS despite what some people claim, which results in games with lower frame rates having a more "choppy" or "stuttery" gameplay.
>>727668178I barely even feel the difference between 60 and 120.
>>727665646I'm still using my 1080tiI was waiting for the 6000 series to buy a whole new computer
>>727668319then you must be retarded. even the desktop is way more smoother at 120 vs 60.
>>727668560NTA , yeah the mouse pointer is. But that's the main thing I notice. I don't notice much difference in gaming from 60hz to 120hz unless the 60hz is unstable and dipping
>>727665901all of them do that. you'd sooner find a cpu bottleneck with overwatch before gpu performance holds you back
Not sure if this the thread to vent about this but I got a 5060 8gb card for a song, I was very happy because the card is recent and it was less than $200. Works perfectly and everything.Just one problem...It is not suitable for anything actually modern.Even 1080p is not safe anymore.I thought 8Gb would be enough for 120 FPS on 1080p, not that the standard rose to 12Gb minimum threatening 16Gb to max out a 2024 game, and we are not even talking about 2K yet. What the fuck dude? It is outdated already? It is not even 7 months old.
Just use game streaming who cares?
>>727667905Aliexpress. It's the how new place to get CPUs.Not many people go for the laptop engineering sample cpus converted to desktop socket like I did, but a lot of people buy AMD cpus off there.
>>727668650I notice when my fps dips below 100 when I play FPS now.
>>727669031yes, I scored an i7 Celeron 500mhz last week
>>727666180>But then Intel and AMD realized they could make even more money so they locked down hard their CPUs so manual overclocking is basically not a thing anymore. You can do any overclocking you want with anything but the most bargain basement AMD boards. Excepting certain X3D chips. Intel had its split between the K and non-K versions >>727666641 mentioned. But the real reason is that they're already running the silicon at the edge of stability while automatic overclocking is the norm. There's just very little performance left on the table.
>>727668650do you mainly play with a controller? controller gets hit by diminishing returns much faster than a mouse.60 is acceptable for me playing on a controller but for the mouse I prefer 90+.
>>727669291nta but there is no point buying cpus from retail in your country anymore. chinks are selling them for half the price, I got my 5700x3d for £120 last year and sold my 5800x to some chump on fb marketplace for £130.
What is RTX on/off? is that a literal setting or is just a name for all the upscaling/frame gen tech from nvidia or what?
>>727669891>I got my 5700x3d for £120 last year5700/800x3d are very expensive in chink pages too now.Current cpus you can buy discounted but those discontinued ones are very expensive even on aliexpress
>>727670080The second
You shouldn't compare 1080ti to 5090 directly.1080ti is a 250W card.5090 is a 575W overclocked freak brick with a much bigger die size.
>>727667959Nvidia has a shittier version of this called, Smooth Motion which you can force enable on cards lower than the current 50xx
>>727665901So you want a $1.50 Haswell i3 with HD 4600 graphics
>>727670080RTX is nvidia ray tracing. Whoever made the image is a retard
>>727665646>The hardware that mainly benefits from upscaling is new hardware, like the 40 and 50 series????People just make up stupid shit to force a narrative. A RTX 2060 6GB benefits from upscaling all the same and DLSS is about the only way to make it keep up.
>>727667959Useless software
>>727671845>A RTX 2060 6GB benefits from upscaling all the same and DLSS is about the only way to make it keep up.Played Cronos The New Dawn upscaled to 1440p at 85fps on a 3060TI and its 8gb of ram, never rose above 70º either with a slight undervolt.I understand that the people that buy a 5080 and can't 4k native feel like they are getting shifted but this shit is magic for older cards.
