The lack of leaks beyond scraps here and there is wild. Bloodlines 2 passed through two completely different developers with multiple waves of layoffs for the latter dev. There are logically a bunch of people who look at the game that released and think, "Oh, wow, it's the placeholder work I did years ago completely unchanged. I would have totally fixed this if, you know, I hadn't been laid off."

The NDAs must be absolutely brutal to be preventing them speaking out. I talked to a youtuber and he said that he can't find a single person from Hardsuit Labs (the original, fired developer) willing to speak, even anonymously, about what happened to the cancelled version.

everything out to imitate the things we love are all fucking garbage

because it's not that big of a deal, people will leak GTA 6 stuff because even a screenshot will generate millions of views and engagement, no one gives a fuck about VTM

Leaks about what? HSL was a glorified vertical slice and what could you possibly see that was interesting enough about the TCR version to leak?

tcr was just extremely uncomfortable and inexperienced with the project. still wakes the deep is the sort of game they want to be developing.

this was like instead of expecting a good ass steak dinner but then it turns out to be a McDonalds burger then they throw the patty away and then give you a empty plate with a vegan hot dog on it

lol this game was a miserable failure. as much as I want another game like redemption I'm kinda glad the series is dead after bloodlines 2.

It’s interesting definitely. I think it’s a mixture of NDAs and the former devs just not giving a fuck about their work on it. The brief gameplay we got way back when was embarrassing even for an indie dev nevermind supposed AA devs.

It’s fascinating to me that this series is so cursed. Like you’d think an RPG about playing as a VAMPIRE would be easy enough to get off the ground but anyone that tries is either lethally incompetent or has their vision ruined by outside sources. It seems to be IP specific too since we’ve had other vampire based games that have at least been average. Shit we’re getting dawnwalker next year that looks far more confident than anything this game ever displayed

Because vampire were surprisingly never that big in video games.

the hilarious shill campaign for this game here was the funniest shit

Here's an example. We genuinely have no idea what the plot of HSL's game was beyond the faction descriptions.

The closest we have gotten is a description of an early version of TCR's story that is probably closer to HSL's because it used Elif instead of Cemile/Safia. I suspect the diablere thing in HSL's game is connected to what happened in TCR's. But TCR's take on it went through multiple evolutions. First "Fabien" was the game's evil mastermind. Then he was a self-righteous thinblood. Then he was a Malkavian.

I'm still laughing because 2 has successfully completely fucked all discussion of the series. Nobody makes VTMB threads anymore because 2 has killed all interest in the IP as a whole.

Inherent problem with V:tM is that no one really cares for anything except Bloodlines.

I see what you mean and agree 100%
If I'm being honest, Parodox has its faults but they're a semi-confident game studio. I honestly think they're getting charmed by plucky little studios and putting way too much faith in people who are way too gooberish and incompetent. Hardsuit Labs was too small-time and incompetent, and The Chinese Room was clearly worse, because despite having a bit more acclaim under their belt for a few narrative titles, it's still mostly walking simulator shit and it's clear that they didn't really vibe with the themes of Vampire because the storyline here is a total botch. I liked a couple of the setpieces, like the nightclub fight, and uh... the sewer section, ironically. The first two people whose blood I sucked were kind of amusing. The next 84 of them or whatever the fuck were not. I didn't hate the characters necessarily. I hated most of them, but the real issue at play here is that there's literally 0 interactivity. At MOST you can get bitched at slightly.
But overall, I think the game would have been actual fun if it just had good immersive sim game design. That's all anybody really wanted, what we got was a dogshit arena brawler connected by long ass boring hallways. Transit quests, boring side jobs. Why the FUCK would I want to beat this game 6 fucking times?

Absolutely perfect image. Blade Runner 2049 has absolutely no soul, no heart.
