Just started playing DDR at Round One not too long ago and am pretty addicted to it. Why did the console releases stop?
>>
guitar hero and wagglan stole the entire party game market
>>
Konami are scum that is why and don't care about the market outside jp

Wacky controllers in general died out for the most part.

A keyboard is a wacky controller if you think about it.

I'm glad at least people see DDR and try it.
My days in high school were spent after class playing DDR E2 with like a group of 15 ppl. Fun times, I miss those guys.

I don't know how old you are, but if you're young, there is still a PC program called StepMania which lets you play on the PC and plug in real actual dance pads. Not just DDR, but Pump It Up too. If you don't want some gay mushy foam pad and a hard one, it'll cost you a bit, probably more than a couple hundo now with inflation and tariffs and shit. But you can download any and all old packs. More than you could ever hope to dance to before you get bored.

labels realized they were leaving money on the table by selling songs for less than $1 a pop. then they switched ot jewish always-online subscription models and the rest is history
that and dance pad games can't be played satisfactorily at home. diy is out of the question

Bemani/Konami is very stingy when it comes to music copyright.
It's only been 10 years they started to export their machines in Round One and other arcade places, in the US.
