>stops your perfectly paced light hearted quirky indie erpg with themes of depression and existentialism in its tracks and leaves a long greasy shit stain in its place that you CAN NOT SKIP for 45 minutes plus >ooops, did we do that? *laugh track*
>>727672890Why did these characters flop compared to the rest? They get so much screentime in Chapter 2 at the start yet there's barely any fan art, barely any discussion about them.
>>727674674they're forced memes and you can't kill them
>>727674674they are fucking uglythe ones on the side look like hideous Hey Arnold/Codename Kids Next Door rejects and the middle one is just Proto from OneShot if he was gay and retarded
>>727672890What are you even talking about. Did we play the same game? They had a cool cheerful set piece and a cool theme song in one chapter of the game. There were many passing characters with dedicated set pieces and unique battle mechanic in Deltarune. I don't know why you get so hung up on these ones in particular not being super popular with the fanbase. It's like you're ascribing an intention to Toby Fox for them to be super popular and in response going "well I don't like them, fuck you". You're making yourself mad for no reason. Chapter 2 is the best one in the game, so clearly they couldn't have been that bad.
>>727674674Toby was hoping people would get the Homestar Runner reference but forgot his audience wasn’t born until 2009
>>727674674They are not hot to mentally ill autistic furry coomers which makes up 99% of the fandom.
>>727672890its a groomer indie basic blueprint at this point. I just want genuine feel good games and not a fucking preachy insistent experience
>>727674674They're a trio of characters that shouldn't be a trio as it makes them blend in instead of standout. Even playing the game with their names in front of me I would not be able to tell which is which and I usually always remember names in games.
>>727676402I was fine with them the first time through as well. But as OP said, you are unable to skip huge portions of their introductions, and their fight drags on and on and on, and also has several unskippable cutscenes. So every time you have to run through ch.2 again for the several kinds of saves that a "maximum lore autist" game needs, this fact really starts to grate. And their kinda annoying characterizations and not great designs are way too weak to even try to outweigh such things.
