Back during launch, you would get trapped in a romance with him if you let him show you a "magic trick", which seemed innocuous first, but it quickly turned into him hitting on you, even if you were a straight male. Worse, even if you rejected his advances, if you weren't a total asshole to him in that exchange, he would think that you and him were in a relationship, so he'd spend the rest of the game hitting on you and trying to get in your pants. If you started trying to romance the person you ACTUALLY wanted, like say Shadowheart or Lae'zel, then Gale would even accuse you of cheating on him and playing with his heart. The devs literally had to patch him to be less clingy and sexually aggressive towards the player.
