What’s /v/‘s thoughts on liquid cooling vs trad fan cooling?
>>
>>727675035
its not optional for high end CPUs like Ryzen 9 or intel i9.
air cooling just doesnt cut it
>>
i think a 30 dollar aircooler is enough for 95% of pcs
>>
>>727675035
If your CPU isn't a literal space heater you can stick with $30 air cooler. 200W+ is a space heater.
240mm AIOs are shit, 360mm is the minimum.

Both are correct. Even with custom fan ramps on my 360 AIO, my i9 14900 still hits around 88C under loads like BF6 and STALKER 2.

retardedly large air coolers just make me laugh.
imaging being comfortable with all that weight and strain on your motherboard just because you're too pussy to get water cooling
>>
>>727675035
Gay. Get that tube out your bussy gamer.
>>
watercooling if you arent a retard
>>
>>727675443
The motherboard would be fine. If you are concerned you could get a silly little bracket for it like they put on GPUs which have a much smaller mounting point and are heavier than an air cooler heatsink.
>>
>>727675035
AIO liquid cooling isn't nearly as necessary as techwits pretend it is
>>
I liek the helicopter noises my fans make
>>
>>727675357
Ramping your fan speed won't change anything if you are testing it under max load, it would presumably be at or near 100% anyway unless you are capping the speed lower for some reason.
80C is fine by the way.

Duality of man

Who is right here?

Me

There is no strain for boards of 6+ layers with proper mounting. Literally zero.
You could put your entire weight and you would bend the cooler before you damage the board.
Meanwhile, I've actually had AIOs leak on my PC.
And if that pump ever decides to silently die your cpu will get a nice tjmax scorch 110c blast before it turns off.
>>
>>727675443
GPU coolers got more retarded.
GPUs are killing themselves by just being installed in your PC without some form of anti-sag.
>>
>>727675443
what the fuck is this design
no way this performs better than any generic dual tower
>>
>>727675035
Completely unnecessary for 99%+ of users.
>>
>>727675035
Unnecessary complexity
>>
Is this overkill for AMD 5 series?
>>
>>727675035
Unnecessary unless you're doing some serious overclocking on your CPU (and GPU but that has even less of a use case).

t. had custom loop for 4-5 years until I realised that 2-4 degrees of temperature difference doesn't increase or decrease my FPS in the games I thought it would. Also, pumps are prone to breaking down and are a bitch to replace.
