Charging $200+ per cart for jank-tier hitboxes and weird-ass inputs wasn’t it. Meanwhile, SNES SF2 had solid controls and was actually fun without requiring a second mortgage. KoF didn't hit its stride until '98 like you said-before that it was a bunch of cool animations held together by duct tape.
