i tried the demo
the environments look very cool and BLAME-esque, and the game is optimized well, but everything else was pretty mediocre, i have to say. scattered around the place there were text lore logs filled with reddit-tier writing. just very cheesy and typical stuff, rambling poorly written paragraphs.

the voice acting also really took me out of it, i'm walking through these cool desolate underground megastructures and i have to listen to chipper british people talking in my ear, who sound like they're about to nip down to the pub for some scram and watch the footie. i almost laughed out loud when i encountered some sorrowfol looking Fromsoft-esque NPC staring off the edge into an abyss, and i go up to talk to him and the VA is like a 19 year old british kid trying to sound edgy and deep. combined with the shit, cheesy writing, of course.

gameplay/combat is whatever, it feels doom 2016-inspired. it's pretty basic and the enemy attacks visually look quite arcadey, they spawn these big glowing spheres that chase you around. doesn't quite fit the grimdark setting imo.

so yeah, i would say promote the engine developers, the mappers and concept artists, and fire everyone else.
