I usually just collect all the expendable throwing weapons from pots when exploring the overworld and underground and unload those on him. Make sure you build an arena over the dungeon entrance to fight him. Doesn't have to be elaborate, just a straight platform of any block so you can run back and forth avoiding his shit. Bring potions. Place down items that boost how fast you regen health, there are at least a couple you should have access to

For some reason it really grinds my gears that games like Minecraft and Terraria allows you to dig to the center of the Earth with a basic pickaxe instead of introducing layers of harder rocks that force you pause your digging, look for ore, upgrade your pick axe, and then resume digging. How is that not the default way to design these things? There is nothing fun about digging straight down for diamonds in minecraft or digging straight down to create an hellevator in terraria, it is peak uninspiring game design, but there really is no way around it, it IS a core gameplay feature. I had to take a break from Infernal Eclipse of Ragnarok at Profaned Guardians. I was getting tired of poor man's Touhou combined with getting two or three shot. Some of the reworked bosses were great (Subspace Serpent hit that sweet spot between bullshit and genius, Infernum's Calamitas Clone rework is pretty good, Golem is also much more fun) and some of them were dogshit (Orcus, Leviathan still blows, Bereft Vessel has a lot of the same problems as Leviathan).

If the damage was just a touch lower I think it'd be a bit more palatable for me, but eh.
