imodesu, one of the reasons Spyro does not click for some is that you need to really finagle with the height and momentum of the jump in a way that's not really easy to notice especially when you would assume the jump is a fixed length. Nevermind that all the games tell you over and over to "hold down x and then glide at the peak of your jump", because people can't actually read. If they ever made a new game they'd need to train the player to improve their gliding, maybe add some new featuers to make it more intuitive.
