Hell yeah, one of the actual best games on the SNES. I was able to beat the first stage easily as a kid, but the remake's kicked my ass two or three times even with knowledge of the og. I think that game is kind of harder overall. Of course I never managed to beat the original back then, only as an adult, but yeah, it can get pretty unforgiving if you don't know the patterns. Don't be shy about using your bombs, remember you can destroy many projectiles by shooting them, and that EVERYTHING is affected by your lasso, even bosses.

I find SNES to be harder than the remake, because increased viewport lets you keep track of more stuff. Amusingly, hard mode in the remake is easier than normal or easy, because the new stage is a cakewalk where the difficulty comes from figuring out the boss' gimmick.
