Disappointment

>13 years of waiting for a worse Alien Isolation
This game would've been impressive if it released in 2012 or 13 but now it's very meh
>>
>>727701776
Played it for 1 hour and uninstalled it. Cool atmosphere and sound design, but that's about it.
>>
>>727701993
That was my impression as well. The sound design is really well done and the environment art is committed to bringing that style to life but the actual gameplay is boring and the angry robots chasing you are a lame replacement for monsters in a horror game

>Played it for 1 hour and uninstalled it
fair enough, youve seen half of the game already
>>
>>727703289
oh no is it really a 4 hour game?
>>
Its a good game but its 4 hours long.
>>727701776
>worse
About as good. AI is bogged down by shooting boring ass androids when the gunplay is barely serviceable.
>>
Best horror game of the year.

The game is confusing and has shit pacing and so often I am stuck in a room not knowing what to do, walking around aimlessly.
The start is dogshit; I spent 10 mins walking around the starter room thinking "what do I do to leave?" because I thought the player character would obviously have his helmet on already and it doesn't tell you that you have to put your helmet on or anything. And not to mention how the fucking printed pass just to leave the room falls on the floor and you have to be like "HUH WHAT??? IS THAT A BUG??? WHERE DID IT GO IT JUST DISAPPEARED" only for me to reload and realise it was meant to represent the pass falling on the floor.
They didn't have to do that. Why not just give the player what they expect??? I expect to just automatically pick up the pass when I press the button to pick it up????????????????????????????? Why would I expect it to have dropped on the fucking floor???????????????????? Why does that need to happen at all?????????????????

And how are you meant to know to link the fucking tool to the projector? Oh sure it "tells you" on the slideshow but finding the projector is difficult, it took me like 10 mins of walking around searching thinking it was behind some interactable wall panel I had to find to get it to appear but no it was just hanging from the ceiling. And then getting the code for the elevator. And then then room after the elevator. Jesus Christ I just turned the fucking thing off, awful game, total amateur hour

0/10 right out the gate
>>
One of those games where the level and narrative design expects you to somehow already know what to do. Really shit level design. It's not player-friendly. There's no conducive natural way in any of the puzzles for the player to naturally intuit what to do without a shitload of running back and forth for 30 minutes and, honestly, just getting frustrated and Googling it. Really, really bad.
Also one of the worst starts in any game I have ever played.
>>
you just knew this is going to be a stinker once they started the damage control on day1
uuuh we only worked on it since covid, not 12 years guys. sure. all the environments and assets were already there. one enemy, looks like the most amateur shit youll see. barely works. just point at it and click so it stops. oh the horror. im so scared
>>
>>727701614
Steam Greenlight was such dogshit lmao.
>>
>>727704954
Which puzzle, cause it feels like most old horror games on the PS1. Every room has bits of the puzzle and the solution is still really linear. You might enter the wrong place first but then you know where to return to once you figure out a code or activate a door.
>>
>>727704954

I beg to differ, I managed to figure out how to get going almost instantly, even though I kept trying to change the options on the C.A.T with a tab instead of R to the very end of the game. There was only one puzzle that pissed me off, rest just require a moment to think.

Bruh, I think Routine is okay but A:I is like a class or two above it in terms of gameplay. The former barely avoids the "walking sim" badge of shame and even then I'd understand if someone disagreed... at least it was more fun to play than Still Wakes the Deep (and noticeably better priced)
>>
>>727705845
AI is also like absurdly long for a horror game where it loses the horror aspect after 5 hours but is somehow 10 hours longer after.

Lot of people outting themselves in these threads being totally lost in the first room/puzzles. If you're paying the absolute bare minimum of attention the game repeatedly spells out how to use your C.A.T and solve puzzles.
>>
Once I realized how many batteries were just laying around any tension around the bots was gone, but tbf I've only just picked up that one guys ID card from his room after disabling the fire alarm.

NO FUCKING WAY IS THAT MY RANDOM ACCESS CODE BAHAHAHAHA
I must be on the Iron Sky lunar base

I quit on chapter 4 because I got annoyed running around in barely marked hallways with no map trying to power up the right spots while having no direction

You absolute need to a monster in a game like this. And you absolute need a good monster design as well. Still Wakes The Deep is great. Perfect length. Not too long, not too short.
Also agreed. A:I was a bit too long. I love A:I but by the time I get to the end, I'm ready to move on.

I don't even like the game but goddamn you're a retard

You would absolutely get buck broken by picrel if you couldn't figure out how to pull up a simple fucking code through the gun's wifi. You are literally the reason why games get dumber and dumber every generation and exactly why we need fucking neon yellow guide lines telling you where to go. Fucking dumbass room temp IQ spastic zoomer. GET FILTERED.
>>
>>727701614
It's a decent fun game, which is all you can really ask for. The price is a little much for the game length. It should have released as 19.99. It's far too lacking in content to be 24.99. Hell, they probably could have gone as low as 14.99.
>>
>>727701614
Like Duke Nukem Forever. Took too long to come out, got beat to the punch by other games, and came out as a stale turd
>>
>Finish a Chapter in one area
>Start next Chapter in completely different area
Are you playing as the same person? How did you get there? I have a ton of questions, i'm smart enough to complete the puzzles but not smart enough to figure out what happened.
>>
>>727705436
The only good thing that came out of that was Black Mesa.
>>
>>727709745
Instant transmission
>>
>those robots are so annoying, wish they could go away
damn, really monkey pawn myself, chapter 4 is so fucking long and boring, had to take a break
>>
>>727704613
This is bait, right? The game tells you what to do constantly.
