I think the main characters were generally more interesting, Claude getting told not to be a fucking pussy, etc. I dislike how the first part of the game felt a bit too Japanese tropey but it soon picked up

People only discuss the game to this day because it has an admittedly charming art style and a unique twist on strategy gameplay, but the game itself never challenges you outside of maybe one or two notable difficulty spikes. Emulate it if you're still still interested

I always get through that first forest mission with the base, right after getting the pet pig. And then I just never boot the game up again.
