First time playing Factorio. What should I expect?
lvdo kino for only the most refined (hehe) tastes
a very slow first ~4 hours
>>727712252feeling like a retard because your base isnt optimal enough and rebuilding the entire thing multiple times>t. had a 70 hour save several years ago
Spaghetti
go to gleba blind and naked. no, really. don't spoil yourself.
Shift right click to copy settings shift left click to paste settings. If you copy the settings of a factory onto a logistic request chest it will set its requests to match the current needs of the factory so once you reach robots there's no excuse to almost ever build anything by hand setting up a factory to do it takes seconds. The game will automatically create an optimal train route (in ghost mode) if you press ctrl+shift while planning to expand the tracks. In the train window you can debug faulty tracks by pressing control and hovering over the track's map it will show you which places are currently accessible to the train and which aren't. I won't tell you have to beat Gleba and Aquilo have fun getting fucked in the ass until you figure it out.

>>727712459I'm in over 150 hours and still haven't reached the Shattered Planet. It wasn't my first playthrough either.
>>727712252if you think you have enough of a certain item being made, you don't, make 10x morealso look up how train signals work
>>727713097My first Space Age playthrough took 370+ hours.
don't even think about using quality chips they're the biggest meme ever until you reach the end game they'll only mess up your factory
>>727712252Play the tutorials. They only cover early game, but it's worth it.Learn the hotkeys, q in particular.Learn to utilize both sides of belts, you can feed coal and ore to the furnace on the same belt with a single inserter.Leave a lot of space between groups of building, the map is infinite for all intends and purposes.Automate literally everything, don't handcraft shit like belts and inserters. You never have enough production.
>>727712252absolute autismaxxing kino, it doesn't get better than that
>>727713418>leave a lot of space between groups of buildingsoulless
What's your defense against striders? These NIGGERS always kill a couple turrets and bots before dying.
>>727712252It's the kind of game where you'll either hate it within 30 minutes then uninstall or realize it's 5:20am, you have work in 2 hours but you can't sleep cause you're still thinking about what to do next for your factory
>>727713719*big strafers
>What should I expect?Oil and trains are the two biggest roadblocks for noobs and they're introduced at the same time. They're both easier than they look but it's a sudden departure from just using belts and inserters for everything. Don't give up.
>>727712252>What should I expect?Your calendar suddenly looking like it has vacancy for an additional 1000+ hours of Factorio.
>>727712252>What should I expect?bugs
>>727712252A second job disguised as a game, except unlike gacha/FOMO it's actually very hard and IQ-demanding so it's actually even worse. Avoid my mistake and refund this shit game if you still can.
weird thing no one ever mentions and took me years to accidentally discover, is when placing a bunch of belts in a line and you're about to make a turn, simply press "R" while still placing belts and it'll let you make turns in whichever direction you shift the mouse. super useful.hope you have fun bro :)
