It SHOULD have beeen throwing the unkown 9 people into a volcano.

also even if that was completely true, the devs still have a massive hateboner for what made tag 2/6 fun so the franchise is doomed anyway

Writing a garbage tier conclusion to the devil gene story that didn't conclude anything at all?

Not caring about story mode is how fighting games die.

to the day i die i will stand that it was originally going to be tekken x street fighter with heat as a mechanic to balance against SF characters, which would also escplain why we have a lot more weapons/guns involved in movesets.

in reality i think a lot of people forget that tekken tag 2 apparently almost killed the series as a whole, and because of that murry (iirc) said that tekken 7 got SUPER shoestring budget. tekken becoming as big as it did by the end of T7s lifespan probably saved the series. the problem is that now its saved and both harada and murray are trying to balance appealing to the newly gained players and still keeping the game as "tekken" as possible without fucking up again. the idea of giving a lot of characters new tools with installs, resources, and even a way to rebuild health like jun are all cool as fuck. even the chip damage is okay on paper. the problem is that heat doesnt need to exist as a mechanic for these things to work, and all heat does is exasperate the worst parts of tekken 7s end of life issues (insane wall carry, mix ups, and combo damage)

also whoever decided that "heat" should be the name of the mechanic because saying "ana is dangerous when shes in heat" is fucking crazy out of context
