Difference is that in MP it rewards you by finding more efficient routes to not have to do this as often, and when you do it's faster each time because you have an upgraded arsenal, and also there is enough secrets from beginning to late game on the path you always have something new to get. Frankly it's perfect, and I'm tired of pretending it's not.
