What have been your personal GOATS of 2025?
i havent played a single one of those games
I'm pretty sure blue prince, silent hill f, doom, oblivion remaster, borderlands 4, and nightreign are all complete slop

I'm so conflicted about calling Blue Prince my 2025 GOTY, it's so uneven and flawed but it had the highest highs of the year for me so it wins by default I guess

I got Hades 2 and e33 but I haven't gotten around to trying them. I decided to finish hades 1 before that because I hadn't played it and it was quite fun, black and asian olympian gods aside.I've watched some of these games, Borderlands 4, Youtei and Doom are dogshit, silksong and death stranding are cashgrabs, is dogshit because of optimization not gameplay like the other dogshit games, Oblivion remake is just a remake, Silent hill f is forgettable, KC2 is alright but a bit woke, blue prince is boring as fuck. No real opinion on Dying light, split fiction and donkey kong or whatever.

Unironically Ghost of Yotei. Just a beautiful game, one of the most beautiful I've played. Gameplay was solid too, nothing too fancy but a slight improvement over Tsushima. Runners up are Silksong, Death Stranding 2 and Hades II. I didn't play E33, I don't really like turn based RPGs anyways but I'll try it when it's half off in the future.

Expedition 33 and KCD2 were the only games I liked at all this year and I didnt even like them that much. I thought they were just ok.

The default values are definitely overtuned and it probably feels even worse if you're playing solo.As for the good parts, I'd say the level design is incredibly good. How all the areas interconnect with each other and all the shortcuts and backtracking feels really good. The game also gives you a variety of different tools to solve problems so it feels a lot like an immersive sim.
