Never played any of these games before and figured I would start with the first. What am I in for?
The only good one.
>>727731279really bad combat with really bad controls and a non existent camera. also don't treat it like an action rpg, think of it as a turn based game were pattern recognition and stamina act as turn order/the atb bar from final fantasy.
The fucking slop that ruin video game. Chinese game always better. Nobody even respect shitjapan anymore.
>>727731279Fun and sometimes frustrating action rpg. Although the PS3 version is gonna run like shit.
>>727731326What makes it that good? Sounds like this anon disagrees.>>727731445I wasn't expecting a fast-paced, hack n' slash for sure, but by late game should I be able to kill enemies easily if I play right? Or is it always a grind?
>>727731896I don't have a PC and figured the Xbox version would've been worse. How bad is it going to be probably? I have one of smaller black PS3s.
Stay out of my woods
>>727731279Fun stuff. Some of the fucky crafting can be annoying but feel free to use summons and it'll be a reasonably easygoing adventure so you shouldn't fuck your character up TOO bad. If you want more story and fluff then read your item descriptions, and if you don't give a shit then don't and just enjoy the nice visuals and cutscenes. Like most of their games you can get as much as you want out of it depending on how invested (You) are in it so all the Zanzibart moments make sense in your own mind
>>727731279Don't skip Demon Souls. You don't need to play it immediately but it gets overlooked too much.
>>727731279Why didn't you buy Demon Souls then?
>>727731279Dark Souls 1 is the best one, and all the games are good, but after the honeymoon wears off with each new one you play after the first, you're left with an empty feeling because they're all the exact same game just with differing qualities; Dark Souls 2 being a steaming pile of garbage, Demon's Souls being the prototype that's unfinished, and Dark Souls 3 being a nostalgia bait for the first one.And then there's Elden Ring.So basically every game is the same artist painting his canvas repeatedly doing the same motif to get a better result. Then you realize you suffered greatly to play all those games, and by Elden Ring you'll never want to play another one again.
>>727732275Good description, thanks. Sounds like I should enjoy it. I've played crafting games before so it shouldn't be anything too new. I'm guessing there is a lot of lore too so we'll see.>>727732582>>727732591I guess I fucked up. Should I just wait to play this till I play Demon Souls. I was a retard and assumed that one came after and didn't check the release dates.
it's a great game and the best out of all of the souls games. go in blind and have fun exploring the world. you don't unlock fast travel until a decent ways in, so don't venture too far into areas that you aren't ready for or backtracking might be a pain. the first playthrough should be completely blind, if you're the type of person that looks stuff up, save it for ng+ at least.
whatever you doDO NOT WATCH SOMEONE ELSE PLAYgo through the game as you normally would any other, read item descriptions, find new areas.. talk to npcs.. just DONT LOOK UP A GUIDE
>>727732935I have to warn you that DS1 was the "odd one out" in the Souls series. Demons Souls plays much more like Dark Souls 2 and 3. In DS1, FROM did stuff they never repeated again, but it created the false idea that DS1 was "the" way FROM Souls games were meant to be experienced.
>>727734303The true idea. Dark Souls one is the only one worth playing. It recreates Demon's beats and does them much better. The story is much more compelling and fun, and is mechanically more polished. You can skip Demons and miss nothing. Then you can skip Dark Souls 2 and 3 and miss nothing as well. Then play Sekiro and Bloodborne and skip Elden Ring. If you have standards and respect your time, that is
>>727733380>>727734173Yeah I don't watch others my first playthrough, or at all unless im looking for something a 2nd time around. At most a text walkthrough if I've been stuck for hours. Playing games blind is the way to play.>>727734303>>727734580For sure. I'll just start with this one then. If its the "true experience" then that's what im looking for. I've seen and read threads about these games and people usually talked about the others being different than this one so it sounds like what im looking for. I'll probably play Bloodbourne next since that one usually gets high praise.
