Why do AMD GPUs get so much hate? The 9070 XT is pretty good

>Immediately added $200 to the MSRP on release
>adds another $200 after ram price increases
>Puts their only 2 year old gpus on the driver update back burner
>>
i only like reference models and the only reason i dont have a reference model is because amd didnt offer them. and yet despite this some fuckers in china got some and i seethe
>>

No DLSS.
>>
Because due to Nvidia's dominance/most people using them, there are occasions where you will run into compatability issues/glitches/bugs/all sorts of other errors that only happen on AMD and that may or may not have a solution or fix to.
>>

AMD is perpetually a generation or two behind Nvidia and if they had any technology to be evil about they'd do it at the first opportunity, they just never do because they're so far behind. They're nobody's friends and they're not "the good guys" somehow just because they're in second place.

Case in point: holding back FSR4 to make it exclusive to RDNA4 series even though it's now proven beyond any doubt that it can run on earlier cards, because AMD is so incompetent they accidentally uploaded all the code to a public GitHub repo.

They need hardware that's objectively at least on par, software that's equal or better in functionality, and prices that make it worth the perceived hassle of switching teams. They did this with CPUs already and now Intel is eating shit.

Their big plan is to make chiplet GPUs like they did with CPUs, allowing them to manufacture them much more cheaply and gain a price advantage, but it's turning out to be harder than they thought and by the time they finally roll it out Nvidia will probably have beaten them to the punch.

Most people won't settle for a significantly inferior product that's just priced slightly cheaper. People would rather save up for another month and get the product that's actually good. I can't remember when AMD was ever in that position. 9800 Pro?

can't make sloppa

for me, its the 7900 XT with 20 gigs of Vram
>>
The used to get hate because their driver was garbage
Now Nvidia's driver is also garbage
>>
It doesn't matter because Nvdia is a strategic defense contractor of the USA and needs to go 100% in the big AI so today is "We are not giving vram modules to aibs anymore, they have to source these themself" or "all plans for Blackwell refresh and super model are currently halted, no ETA" but tomorrow will be "it's with great sadness that we announce our exit from the gaming consumer market, the GeForce division is shutdown effectly immediatly"
I can see it happen that if the AI bubble doesn't pop up soon Nvdia will unironically stop making GPUs fof gaming

Nowadays even Nvidia's driver support is garbage so I guess it isn't that either.
I think people tend to be loyal to whatever they've owned before, as AI slop and RTX shouldn't give Nvidia that much of an edge (well I guess AI slop SHOULD, but AMD nowadays is as capable of generating smut locally).

Shit nigger what are you doing?

>Why do AMD GPUs get so much hate?
nvidia pays for it, you'll notice there's less shills these days since nvidia doesn't actually give a shit about gaming anymore.

My 5090 FE works great. Never had an issue with the drivers.

Same reason there's so much shilling for nvidia's dogshit technologies.
>>
AMD has the edge over Nvdia for gaming now
>actually makes gaming hardware
>1:1 windows-linux experience
No performance lose on Linux is huge, gaming on windows will be atrocious in the near future as AI tech and jeets keeps on gangraping the OS and (You)
Sure the transiction to Linux requires compromise but keeping using Windows is really getting more and more retarded
>>
>>727739489
The decade+ of terrible drivers has forever tainted AMD GPUs in the eyes of the public.
Even with them not being complete garbage and Nvidia drivers shitting up will never fix that image.
>>
>>727739918
Nvidia has no performance loss in Linux if you use a good distro like Cachy
>>
>>727737591
DLSS shits on it
>>

Nvidia pays for that, its obvious, they are decent cards for the price

>AMD has the edge over Nvdia for gaming now
For how long?
Surely AMD is interested in that sweet AI datacenter money and they do make the cheapest AI gen capable GPUs today. There will be a moment in the clown future in which the only consumer grade GPU maker is gonna be Intel.
>>
>>727739980
Thats not true at all
It is better than used to be but there are still games suffering up to -60 fps differences between linux and windows, also nvdia RT is way way way worse on linux across the board

AMD is already in the datacenter with EPYC enterprise CPUs
>There will be a moment in the clown future in which the only consumer grade GPU maker is gonna be Intel.
They are unironically gonna bankrupt before that happens lol

That was when they were still ATi.

Some anons work in some mysterious ways.
There used to be an anon who'd ask opinions on the 1050ti 4GB on the daily, for some reason. He probably owned it already, but still wanted to see people talk about his beloved little GPU
>>
>>727739642
Redpill me on the catchy kernel. what does it have that my kernel doesnt. just started using linux 7 months ago ish, still learning.
>>
>>727737591
9070 XT is pretty much the only good GPU AMD has put out in years and it only just recently for the past couple months came down to MSRP. I think their next line of GPUs will do very well is AMD doesn't manage to fuck it up. But it's AMD so they probably will.
>>
>>727737591
they aren't the best for ai gen

>>727737982
trash you dont need fsr is literally better anyway
