have videogame companies given up on implementing NFTs in general? or are there actually successful games that do it
>>
They are only usable inside their respective games so what's the point of calling them NFTs? In-game items are much simpler to implement without a fucking blockchain behind them and no developer would add external NFTs to their games anyways.
>>
Someone post that one faggot's post about the 5% drop rate
>>
>>727748141
The only actual usecase i could is for pokemon games making each pokemon an NFT so you could never have duplicates. But gamefreak could care less with every new pokemon game becoming more sloppy than the last.

Whole point of an NFT is that you own it and can trade it wherever you please
>>
>>727750092
I can do that with TF2 hats as well. Are they fucking NFTs? No.
>>
>>727750137
You dont own them and you can only store them and trade them via valves servers.
>>

People who championed NFTs in gaming had absolutely no clue how either games or NFTs function. It was the single most hilarious case of impotent techbro flailing in history.
>>
>>727750092
>own it
No you don’t, Elon. What you “own” is a token that claims that you own a specific version of an image.
>>
NFT's still are a thing?

That's a nice token you got there... Would be a shame if someone... Funged it.

Okay, where can you trade your Ghost Recon: Breakpoint NFTs? Which other non-ubisoft games can accept them?
>>
>>727750682
If it's actually an NFT on a blockchain you could send it to any blockchain wallet you wanted, and trade it wherever you wanted, even without an exchange.

>where can you trade your Ghost Recon: Breakpoint NFTs
Im no familiar with their system but if you dont have the private keys to your wallet address or the option of transferring the NFT to your own wallet (of which you do have the keys) then these specific NFTs would be useless and you dont own them

>Which other non-ubisoft games can accept them?
I don't see how that's relevant at all

I think its on ethereum so pretty much anyone can buy or sell it

Funny how the NFT grift came and went, and was totally abandoned the moment everyone shilling for it started shilling for ai instead
But don't worry ai is the future and won't blow up and collapse!
>>

>People who championed NFTs in gaming had absolutely no clue how either games or NFTs function
I'm going a step even further and will claim that the shoddy attempt at cramming NFTs into pretty much the worst applicable space was a deliberate effort by powerful people in order to sour the public on the technology so that it never gets implemented in other spaces.
A definitive proof of purchase chain would for example stop a lot of stock manipulation and straight up fraud, which would cause some very rich people to lose billions of fake stock money.

>that one friend who bet everything on NFT's and lost his parents house
>he then doubled down with crypto and lost even more getting himself massively into debt
>he's now using AI to write e-books or some shit and living in his car
We should have gotten him help sooner, but every town need a cautionary tale.

Put aside buying and selling for a while, the question is how do you actually use it?
>>
>>727753493
As long as ubisoft's servers are up you can use it in-game. After they pull the plug you will own a useless assault_rifle_pink.png, congratulations.
>>
>>727752223
Stock trading isn't displayed publicly because it hasn't been possible until nfts but because, as you said, it's undesirable for those who engage in it.
If we wanted to give better proof and trackability of purchase we could have done it if not from the 20s inarguably since the 70s and then the internet era.
Then be aware that, in crypto, impersonation and sockpuppeting are trivial and feel free to imagine how your plan can turn on its head.
You don't need to sour the public on a tech that conceptually solves nothing and practically sucks at everything it promises to solve.
>>
>>727753001
You don't own nfts either they exist on a Blockchain owned by someone else.

Why does did it feel like there's a lot more hate towards AI generation than there was towards NFTs?
>>
>>727754849
Because no one forced you to intereact with NFTs, and NFT bros didn't increase my electricity prices, my computer components prices, and ruin every online platform.
>>
>>727754849
ai is a bigger threat to corpos. make no mistake, its not autistic luddites.
>>
>>727755242
>ai is a bigger threat to corpos
Is that why corpos pumped a total of $5.5. trillion into it?
>>
>>727754849
because 99% of reddit grew up thinking they'd always be a famous artist, creator, etc. one day and AI is basically about to make it about fifty times harder to break into the industry and probably next to impossible to make a living out of this. NFTs are stupid and gay, but AI is an existential threat to the dreams of most of the people on reddit
>>
>>727755324
and oil companies invest in electric cars. woah!

It's not just about trading, the biggest tax fraud scheme in the history of our country was possible because ownership could not be definitely verified:

>inb4 lol cum
But I get your point, the political will to harden our financial system against fraud simply isn't there.
