It's obvious that Nintendo will end up publishing on PC. When they do, do you think they'll partner with an established player like Steam, or go their own route? I'm sure Epic would love the coup of getting their games, but I doubt they can afford it. Steam gives an instant audience and takes care of a lot of stuff that Nintendo isn't historically good at, but at the same time Nintendo is probably the last player alive who could give a serious go of making their platform/storefront and actually drawing a crowd.

Is it? Why?

Nintendo will never release their main games on PC. Never. Period.
>>
>>727749494
Money. Same as everyone else. I can already play every Nintendo game on my PC, as can anyone else, the only difference is Nintendo isn't getting paid for it.

Nintendo games will never be on PC, but they're already on PC so it doesn't matter.

Zoomanon... emulation has been a thing since before you were born.
>>
>>727751254
Obviously, but this is about Nintendo's inevitable official release onto PC.
>>
>>727751303
Will never happen. Their games will slip into the public domain before they get official releases on PC. Then Valve will just host the ROMs on steam.

Why do you even push for this? I'm playing Paper Mario for the N64 with 4K textures and it's free. But you want them to charge me.
>>
>>727751303
Doubt it.
Nintendo's first party games are the only fucking reason to even consider buying Nintendo hardware.
Way more than other console manufacturer, they NEED their exclusivity to survive.

The death of exclusive hardware is only a positive for consumers. But I don't think Nintendo is struggling to sell consoles yet.

>>
>>727749428
Big publishing is inherently not profitable.
They will not give up their ability to Jew over their customers with their consoles, cheap plastic tat, subscriptions and vendor lock-in.
>>727751705
>slip into the public domain
Let me just check the dates here...
>2076 for the earliest iteration of Mario
I hope copyright gets dismantled before then, because it's not a functional paradigm and has only caused the complete stagnation of culture as it has become more overbearing. Maybe the overinvestment into AI will lead deluded boomers towards dismantling copyright to prevent the bubble from popping (which will unironically cause the AI bubble to pop faster, since AI can't compete with creative output without the limitations of copyright).

>Money
They'll lose console sales as there will be fewer reasons to buy them. Then the same people who pirate now will still be pirating because they're used to not paying for Nintendo and any price above free will be a dealbreaker.
>>
>>727752972
The people who pirate were never the target audience for their old product, they will logically expand their target audience when they no longer need to put up with the inconvenience.
As long as they sell at the most common points of purchase, they will not "lose" any sales to piracy and will only see an increase.
Most people buy when impulse cultivated by marketing meets convenience and self-justification, whether or not a free alternative exists is not a factor if that free alternative can't meet those same criteria.

Nintendo's main source of income is third party games on their consoles. Nintendo console have value because Nintendo's IP's have huge brand value and are only available on their consoles. If Nintendo games were on PC, less people would buy Nintendo consoles and then there would be fewer third party sales on consoles. Nintendo would effectively be giving that income to Valve.

holy shit what a retard. Money is the reason they DON'T put their games on PC.
>>
>>727749428
If Nintendo ever starts to publish anything on PC, it will be with a service of their own like Steam and whatnot. It'll just be a bunch of emulators with older games and bad PC ports of less successful games, the bread and butter games will still be exclusive to their consoles. They might be released on PC after like a decade or so if the service is still up.
>>
>>727749786
>I can already play every Nintendo game on my PC
So how's that switch 2 emulator for MKW and bananza?
>>
>>727749428
Low tier bait. I shall not engage with this discussion. Save for the fact that I'm calling it engagement bait
>>
>>727752092
Exactly. People act like Nintendo's hanging on by a thread, when in reality they print money off plastic waggle toys and 20-year-old ROMs with a new coat of paint. Until they have a generation that bombs hard-like Wii U levels of bad AND worse third-party support-they’ve got no reason to jump ship and go cross-platform. The Switch 2 could literally be a cardboard box that hot glues to your monitor, and they'd still sell 50 million based on Mario Kart alone.
>>
>>727756491
I find it more retarded that people are looking at Metroid Prime 4 as an example of Nintendo's first party output collapsing when that has more to do with our (America's) collapsing AAA industry and Retro making dumb decisions to stop being AA and evolve into AAA since that's what they always wanted to do.
>>
>>727749428
The absolute delusion of steamies
>>
They could stand to make PC and mobile versions of their NSO emulation apps that work with your existing NSO subscriptions. People love emulating on their PC and phone, so providing an official alternative using their existing subscription service could net them some brownie points. People who were never going to pay still aren't, those who already do get an additional benefit via cross-saves and crossplay, and there's a chance more casuals will buy into it. It seems like a win for everyone involved.
>>
>>727753485
Keep seething, consolecuck. Every time you clutch your plastic toy and shout "B-but exclusives!" you're just coping harder. Meanwhile, I'm out here playing Paper Mario in 4K with widescreen and shader mods like it's 2025 (oh wait). Keep waiting for your port crumbs while PC keeps eating.

I feel like PC browns doing this "any day now!" like they did during the PS4 days is just signing PC gaming's death sentence.
>>
I could see it happening one day if making a new console starts becoming way too expensive itself.
>>
>>727749428
>It's obvious that Nintendo will end up publishing on PC.
Something insanely big would have to happen to even force Nintendo to heavily consider releasing their games on PC.
So far I don't see them doing this even in the far future. At this point we'll have Unicorn Overlord and other Vanillaware games before Nintendo releases even an ancient Mario game on PC.
>>
>>727749786
Lol.

While Sony and MS fired tons of people and moved a shit of work unto ai, after going multiplat, nintendo bought a cgi studio to make movies in house and didnt fire a single fucking dev.

They are doing great because they are not acting like the other 2
