Well, /v/. Is there any reason why I SHOULD let go?
>>
nope
the real lesson is not to listen to faggy californian devs preaching
>>
>old world money has no value whatsoever
>but gold does
Hmmm
>>

Let go of your poverty, anon.
>>727759973
>german papiermarks have no value, outside of maybe collectors
>gold still does
Hmmm indeed.
>>
>>727760320
>gold still does
It's not common enough to become a currency, and none of the tech enthusiasts (Enclave, Brotherhood, Vaults etc) can make something of a true value with it. Gold is just junk. I'd say that only jewelry can have some aesthetic value, but barely anyone basks in vanity enough to wear gold in fallout
>>
>>727759786
You already have 125904 caps, why bother lugging 1295 pounds of gold.
>>
>>727760548
>make something of true value
Neither could most people in, for example, iron age, besides aesthetical value as you say.
>not common enough
That was also a case for many people back then.
Its value came from it being a store of value.
Fallout is also a silly setting to begin with, focusing on pop culture references more than building believable post apocalyptic societies.

The gold is smalltime compared to other loot and wealth you leave the DLC with anyway

I was shocked to find I was able to walk out the gate at the end of it overencumbered, so I guess I made the whole journey back with over a tonne of police revolvers, automatic rifles, Sierra Madre armors and other things of value that I'd collected over the duration weighing me down to a crawl

AND THEN there's the regular payment of vending machine chips you can come back to the bunker to pickup and spend if you clean out the casino before you go home. Enough for dozens of chems or repair kits, every few days. I didn't have to LET GO OF SHIT
>>
>>727761172
I can feel for House there, I just fuck off in these DLCs, but I would say most of them at least make sense, HH is the one that feels like you should do before meeting House (but even then, there is also a thing of getting to Benny for revenge). I don't feel like there is a good place and time to do HH.
>>
>>727759973
gold is always gonna have value since we're not living through another hypothetical star collapse to give the earth any more

What's there to think about
>OWB -> HH -> TLR
First, you need to remove your brain to have a thought of going to Zion in the first place. Then, you get a motivation for a vacation after that shitshow. Spice it up with a good old talk with Caesar, hanging around and learning more about the Burned Man, kill Benny, then be a fucking hypocrite and convince Graham not to do the same. After that, Ulysses and the End.
>>
>>727759786
why does EVERYONE think the let go message was meant for the player and the gold? with all the equipment you get inside the bunker, I thought it was pretty obvious getting all the gold bars was meant to be a challenge

every single civilization in human history has valued gold, it's because it contains a small portion of the Sun's divinity so everyone is attracted to it by instinct

There is already an infinite caps glitch you can exploit after 35,000 caps so yeah theres zero reason to take the gold

Collecting (detonating) ALL nuclear warheads for EPIC loot, progressing in the story, and cool trophy/achievement
There's also some buck broken nigger who is avellone's pet; seething about NCR not being apocalyptic enough, some completely deranged drivel if you side with Legion, telling you that you're bad for siding with House because House made NIGGERS, CANNIBALS and faggots junkies who piss in their own mouth clean up their act and provide casino services.
>>
>>727761962
The people of the wasteland need to let go of emulating the old world, and replicating it's failures; The legion and NCR are just rehashes of dead empires, and the wastes need a new system of governance for the world they exist in. Whatever that maybe? Anarchism maybe? The DLC seems pretty pro-Yes man ending.

Old world dollars literally have a 1-1 conversion rate into caps, anon. You gain 2k caps from 2k old world dollars from Repcon HQ. Hell, considering how high inflation was before the bombs dropped, it seems USD's value has gone up, if it's equal to one cap per dollar.

Ulysses is obsessed with Copeville which is a location that only he saw and went to; location that was never depicted, talked about or introduced in any way in any previous official fallout media or noteworthy fanfiction and the buckbroken nigger blames (YOU) the player rather than your player character for delivering an eyebot that caused it to get nuked.
Because america slept there o algo, 良く分からんけど

Does this look like one dollar to you? That's $100, and it costs 10 caps raw, mostly because it's a great toilet paper and it's better than using some radioactive river to wash you ass

Considering NCR dollars are also green, I think Pre-war Dollars value on the West coast is the NCR reusing the material for their own currency. (Or maybe they die their paper green for legitimacy. "Old world dollars are green so our dollars must be green!")
>>
>>727761962
The NCR is made of bullshit that wasted no time remaking the old world government and all it's faults. The Legion will burn itself out and the reverence for Caesar and lack of other good leaders in the Legion will leave it crippled when he dies. There was hope that the city growing in what's now the divide could have been a new option for the future. Let the Legion burn out, let the NCR collapse on itself and maybe what was growing there could rise up in it's place. But no chance, people playing with forces they couldn't understand ruined any chance of that. And there's more out there than just nukes that can ruin the world again. The machinations of Big Mt. let loose on the world, the red mist of the Sierra Madre, some way somehow someone will be stupid enough to kill the world again if they get big enough to find this stuff and think they can harness it.
