It is for the driver. I used to live in a city that had a grid street layout, and I miss being able to take whatever street I want and drive it to the other end of the city. Now I live in a city with a much more autistic layout and I fucking hate driving.
>>
It makes commute easier.
>>
Why do europeans and citytards complain about American road grid cities when Romans were doing grids thousands of years ago before everyone else
>>
Perhaps. But there is more to building a city than efficiency. Consider the esthetics and the art of it all.
>>
>>727763279
maybe but grids are actually gay
>>
>>727764238
europeans are eternally jealous of us
>>
>>727764238
They're just gonna complain about anything America does no matter what it is so why even care
>>
Team circle here.
Makes the most sense especially if you have an underground transit network.
>>
If every window you look out has another building in it you are part of the slave caste; worthless cattle, given busy work to distract you from questioning your place.

Water level needs to be 3 meters minimum for ship travel, walls need to be 8 meters minimum for flood protection.
>>
>>727765551
You can't build a perfectly spherical perfectly flat island though and that's what matters
>>
>>727766089
The greeks did it 3 thousand years ago.
And the arabs made a palm tree 10 years ago.

from baltimore all the way down the chesapeake to the atlantic, plus from norfolk into the atlantic, there are a bunch of tunnels under the water to let ships as big as cargo container carriers and naval ships pass overtop
>>
>>727766212
top looks like a fucking theme park
bottom is a rugged american city
>>
>>727766212
You can't really make a city like the top or a walkable one in skylines can you?
>>
the best layout is having every building in the city lined up on a single straight road.
>>
>>727766485
everyone gets their fair share of traffic noise and pollution
