>>727773348>weredict
>>727773348why is nier there
>>727773917The music. It's clearly inspired by it, using fake languages and all.
>>727773348gay, cringe and retarded, just like myself. GOTY.
>>727773973Canadian is not a "fake" language
>>727774067yes it is

>>727774067wadder you talkin aboot
>>727773348Great, but it does have serious balancing issues and not much replay value.>>727773973Most of the lyrics are either in French or English.
Beating Sprong in Act 2 was kino
>>727773348Pretty good game pre act3Loses the plot and has extreme balance disparities in act3
>>727774434The plot is still great in act 2, but the balancing sucks, yeah.
>>727773348GOTY, no question. The best thing about E33 is how the team was actually formed:>founder brings some close contacts from Ubisoft who left with him>head writer was originally a VA contributor for the original Reddit post>Lorien Testard was just found in some music community, he never did a professional OST beforeGoes to show that going by pure 'metrics' and LinkedIn bullshit doesn't necessarily mean you will make something actually good. I honestly believe this is why E33 sticks out so much: Sure, it has an AA budget allowing for pro VAs and outsourced animators/QA thanks to Kepler's involvement... But the core elements of the product (story, characters, music, GAMEPLAY) were made by Sandfall themselves mixing-and-matching or trying out what seems cool or fun. It's highly evident that there were no bullshit marketing buzzwords tied to said core elements. We need more games with hands-off publishers.
>>727776356>He thinks this happy feel good story is true
>>727776991It’s mostly true, but it leaves out a few details. Mainly that Broche is a nepo baby who got his dad to help fund his dream game, and that some of the flasher animations were outsourced to Korean animators. It’s still a AA success story, it’s just not an “indie” success story. E33 is not an indie game.
>>727776356I don't really care about the dev's life story but I do like that he wanted to revive turn-based FF and give it some Sekiro influences, cause I love both those things
>>727777264I mentioned the outsourced animators and QA.>>727777568And they combined pretty well, actually. the fact that it makes parry haters seethe is another good thing
>>727773348Good story, great characters, okay gameplay, great music, art looks very niceMy biggest gripe is how everyone is calling it an indie success when it's not an indie gameNot GOTY for me, cause I value gameplay the most, and that is the weakest part of E33
>>727773348should I buy it on sale?

>>727778324It's a great game, play it. 100% took me 70 hours, dunno how much that's worth to youIt can probably be pirated easily
