>all NPC:s are killable so you can really fuck up the run if you're arrogant>since the whole map is essentially one big interconnected dungeon, it's easy to get lost which enhances the immersion of a real adventure>all traps and obstacles have some kind of foreshadowing>bosses are huge, slow and predicable. they are not the main focus, they serve more as a thematic cherry on top, encapsulating the theme of their respective areas>both boss placement and arena design feel natural>due to slow tempo of the combat, every roll and swing of your weapon consumes a huge chunk of stamina and needs to be planned carefully>voice acting is top notch, and the subtle echo really makes it feel like you are in some kind of magical purgatory>the fire drake seems impossible at first, but it turns out the player has actually FIVE different methods of bypassing him, some of which are not intended by the devs, which in turn makes the progression feel strangely natural and personal because the game rewards curiosity instead of forcing a predetermined route>the story can be skipped altogether, but for those interested, it offers a purposely wide canvas anchored by strong philosophical pillars, allowing players to construct their own narrative through their own worldviewHow can one game present so many amazing design choices?
It's all the same copy pasted garbage.
>>727774207>bait that only works on gamers over 25
idk but how can you get behind the dragon
>>727774000>all NPC:s are killable so you can really fuck up the run if you're arrogantI'm surprised how few games let you do this. The only 2 I know of are dark souls 1 (i think all npcs are killable?) and tes 3 morrowind.Even the original demon's souls didn't let you kill the maiden in black so it had that tes 4 oblivion onwards type of "this npc has a crown because they're integral to progress the game so we can't let you kill them" bullshit they pulled, and I know she's immortal in lore and you can kill her as one of the endings but still that doesn't count. And future souls games also pulled the same stuff, Sekiro just outright doesn't even let you attack any single NPC at all. It's amazing how rare it is to find and how much of a cool factor it added to souls 1 where you could make a comfy places as desolate as you wanted by just murder hobo-ing everyone, it truly made that game feel special.I didn't read the rest of your post because I know it's just shitty bait.So I'm hijacking this thread, let's talk about this instead.>>727775243You can just run forward past him.
>>727775243Wait behind cover until he lands on the bridge or shoot him to make him land immediately then run past
>>727774000>all traps and obstacles have some kind of foreshadowinglol>Hellkite Drake bridge first encounter>Stray Demon collapsing floor>Seath scripted loss>Bed of Chaos collapsing floor
>>727775243Not OP, but I think you can dash to the stairs leading down to the bonfire, wait out the fire breath, run back up to bait the Drake to come down, then run past it to the bonfire. At which point it flies away until you reload.
>leave Asylum>attack Crestfallen Warrior for fun>he kills me>wtf respawning didn't deaggro him>can't beat him>restart game from the startThat was great
>>727775447you don't need to do all that you can just run forward after surviving the initial fly by he does, he doesn't anything for some reasonhe only starts breathing fire at you if you go down the stairs after the fly byif you just go forward after it he just sits there and does nothing
>>727775425>Hellkite Drake bridge first encounterScorch marks and burnt corpses on the bridge. The rest, sure, but they're all part of a boss spectacle, not that it excuses them. There are no moments where you're exploring and the game suddenly kills you outright.
>>727775425>>Stray Demon collapsing floorYou fucking kidding me?
>>727775570I didn't know that. Very strange.
>>727775523>"Not the consequences of my own actions"
>murder hobo
>>727775425>Hellkite Drake bridge first encounterthe burned floor and you can hear him fly good 10 seconds before he actually gets there which is enough to run back out>Stray Demon collapsing flooryou can see him below the floor right when you start the game if you look to the right, and the place collapses because the asylum demon jumps on it and weakens the floor/ceiling>Seath scripted lossyou can find an npc who warns you about that prior>Bed of Chaos collapsing floorthat one is the only true one, that part is just unfinished lol
>>727775523Funniest shit I read all day. Also you're a bitch.
>>727775758>>727775719>say it was great>ESLs start seething
>>727774000More importantly, how did Elden Ring fuck it up?
>>727774207Sekiro should be devolving.
>>727775634That's a engine lighting error.
>>727775785>posting on eslchan>esls reply to post>surprised pikachu faceyeah like that other anon said>"Not the consequences of my own actions"
>>727775815>I can't overlevel and summon? REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>727775634That's not how it looks on PTDE. Is your screenshot from the remaster or something?
>>727775827what lighting, they're a different separate model with a different color
>>727775795>recycled nonsense>entire game is just am obnoxious boss simulator with no punishment or fear of dying, "whoops, you died! just respawn right outsided the boss room and try again"we just dont know
>>727775905yeah i played the superior version
>>727775905it's from the original version before ptde was ever a thing, anon
>>7277752431. just make a run for it and get lucky, the fire breath has strange rng2. wait in the alcove, the drake will soon get bored and jump to the bridge, then run past it3. just kill it, zweihänder or maybe arrows4. detour under the bridge5. the HUGE detour through new londo, valley and darkroot (actually possible even without lordvessel or master key)
>>727775785Neither of those are seethe posts you illiterate retard. One's essentially telling you that you should've expected that, and the other is calling you a bitch for restarting after being unable to beat him.
I like Souls games. I like them a lot.DS1 is the most overrated game of all time.
>>727774207Holy bait. The goycattle special
>>727776058>DS1 is the most overrated game of all time.As someone who played them all recently for the first time it's baffling how anyone can think this. It's literally the best one.
These games were shit from the start.
>>727776157>>727775941>>727775781>>727774207gud morning saaar, please du not redeem
>>727776142NTA, but while it's a fantastic game, I'd hesitate to call it the greatest game of all time. It's definitely among the most overrated games.
>DS1
>>727776142I played DS1 on release and you can't actually tell me shit, little zoom zoom.
Why do these kinds of threads get spammed using the same pictures/webms again and again? Is this a bot?
Riveting gameplay brought you by fromslop
>>727774000>all NPC:s are killable so you can really fuck up the run if you're arrogantThis is actually EXTREMELY annoying. I killed most of the key NPCs by mistake. The reason it's not "immersive" to be able to kill NPCs because the controls in the game are based around combat. If you press a single button you slash someone with a sword by accident. This completely ruins the immersion for me. In a "realistic" game world (ignoring the fantasy stuff that comes with the suspension of disbelief yadda yadda), you shouldn't walk around afraid of accidentaly unsheathing a blade and murdering someone in cold blood out of nowhere. It's the same thing with Red Dead Redemption, another garbage game. Not killing any civilian or running over them with a horse by mistake is nearly impossible. I honestly prefer games like Yakuza where you're locked into moralfag mode and don't have to worry 24/7 about comitting mass murder because your finger slipped on the wrong button.
>>727775312NV also has that, with Yesman being the sole exception of the rule, but it feels kinda neat that you can turn half the maps into desolate ruins if you murderhobo everyone
>>727776628They only go hostile after you hit them 3 times. Stop pretending you accidentally press R1 every time you talk to an NPC
>>727776946That's not true. I killed those NPCs that sell you shit because I punched one and was aggro'd forever.Another one was the Onion Knight girl who was disguised as a crystal golem. I attacked the golem, she revealed herself, but I accidentally continued the combo and killed her.
>>727776381ever since ds2 and more so ER souls threads have become unbearable dogshit filled with schizos who deserve no less than to be put down like a dog
>>727777105>That's not trueIt is. Everyone who played the games knows thisAt best you're misremembering, at wost you're baitingNo more (you)s either way
>>727776628How many times does your finger "accidentally slip" onto an attack button you fucking retard?
>>727778414Black people do be like that sometimes
>>727776628>>727777105>he doesn't know about Oswald of CarimFrom added an NPC you find early on that lets you de-aggro NPCs, and you're still bitching about it.
>>727776634>with Yesman being the sole exception of the ruleBzzzt, doesn't count then.Like I said ds1 and morrowind are the only 2 games I can think of where you can kill everyone, and in the latter completely fuck the game up and softlock yourself.
>>727777105>because I punched one and was aggro'd forever. That literally can't happenm, you haven't played the game. You need to hit multiple times or do enough damage above a certain percentage of their total hp, which is usually around 300+Fists do like 2 damage, so you'd need to hit them 3 times or have a damage cheat.
>>727774000>the story can be skipped altogether, but for those interested, it offers a purposely wide canvas anchored by strong philosophical pillars, allowing players to construct their own narrative through their own worldviewDidn't the first 2 Diablo games do this? In fact, I think it was really common before 6th gen
>>727774000>>since the whole map is essentially one big interconnected dungeon, it's easy to get lost which enhances the immersion of a real adventureThis is shit. It's no adventure running around trying to find where to go once you've experienced everything the area has to offer. This doesn't mean you get quest arrows and map markers everywhere. It should just let you know, or guide, where the unexplored area begins. Either by giving a rough compass direction, having NPCs explain how to get there or have something like enemies coming from that particular direction and leaving a trail. No one feels good getting lost and having nothing new to explore or experience.
>>727779438>having NPCs explain how to get there It does have that.
>>727779504Occasionally, sure.
>>727779438you are simply just really really stupid. this isn't even a git gud thing, you're just retarded
