>>727791776To the game's credit they did a great job of writing the characters and giving them a lot of interactions to make it feel like that they're real characters with desires and goals in the story. I didn't think I'd like any of the male characters on my first playthrough but I ended up sympathizing with Astarion alot.

All of the characters are interesting, provided you bring them along a lot. Even Wyll, which people generally think is boring, is interesting if he's along for the entire ride, and not just camp interactions.
