Mario 3D World was overhated and criminally underrated. Of all the 3D Marios, that one has the most creative levels, power ups, and seamless gameplay. It's not open zone, the game doesn't kick you out and force you through a loading screen bureaucracy every time you pick up a star, and it also seamlessly incorporates classic Mario elements into it for the best of both worlds. It had a lenghty post game with challenging levels and a new character to unlock, who happens to be the series' sexiest.
It was doing Kirby and the Forgotten Land nearly a full decade before that game even came out. Mario 3D World is one of the greatest games ever made and it's often overlooked just because it doesn't have the cringe youtuber analyst writing of Mario Galaxy.
