will we ever get a dishonored 3
>>
it might be time for another replay
>>
>>727793804
we got a direct spinoff that sucked and then another game that takes place within the same setting but in the future that also sucked so I think it's dead.

:(

what games are those?
>>
>>727794146
Death of the Outsider and Deathloop
>>
>>727792108
The problem with Dishonored is that it's almost trivially easy if you actually use your powers, AND actually using them gives you the bad guy ending.
>>
>>727794187
DotO is basically a DLC, I thought I missed on something lol
>>
>>727794371
>actually using them gives you the bad guy ending
so?
>>
>>727794371
The game rewards your playstyle

>the game sees you are using your weapons / powers to fuck shit up and kill people
>so it spawns more people for you to kill
>the game sees you are sneaking around and using minimal weapons
>so it gives you more opportunities to sneak around and do things non-lethally
but m-muh bad ending!
"No!"

Dishonored 2 is the greatest example of this. The story took an absolute nosedive in pretty much every aspect, but the gameplay is superior to 1.
>>
>>727794371
it always amuses me how offended some people get at being called a bad guy in Dishonored 1. especially zoomers.
>NOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST BEEF UP SECURITY AND GIVE ME MORE GUYS TO KILL AFTER I SLAUGHTERED 50 DUDES IN THE PREVIOUS LEVEL, YOU CAN'T JUST NOT CALL ME A HECKIN GOOD BOY FOR MURDERING OVER HALF THE ENTIRE POLICE FORCE OF THE CITY AAAAAAAA

A CHILD OF WHAT!?
>>
>>727792232
its a good game but i wont suck it off calling it a masterpiece with its edgy goofiness and some emo twink being god
i love the second hand hl2 art direction but i really dont see what they were going for in terms of story and world
>>
>>727796646
If you are retarded and stupid.
>>
>>727796646
Deathloop had style, I’ll give it that, but the roguelite-lite structure wore thin fast. Repeating the same four zones over and over to piece together the "perfect loop" felt like Arkane trying to be clever instead of engaging. Dishonored had jank, sure, but at least its systems gave you the agency to play how you wanted without handholding you through a timeline spreadsheet. I'd take choking out dudes in Dunwall over Colt's Marvel quips any day.
>>
>>727796646
this game was way better than people gave it at launch but it was still pretty shallow and just nowhere near as good as Dishonored.
>>
>>727794371
>AND actually using them gives you the bad guy ending
That's a lie and this rhethoric is a proof that gaming isn't art and "gamers" are immature since Dishonored's approach to narration is miles more advanced and games-like than Witcher, TLOU, Telltale and Undertumblr. It's an actual "you carve your own story" with your actions - something that no other form of media can achive but instead of embracing it bunch if insecure fatlords seethe about not getting headpats for playing the way they like.
And by the way THE BAD ENDING is the one where Emily dies. The game counts it as a legitimate ending.
>>
>>727796646
I'm gonna pirate it and see if it's true.
>>
>>727798548
Dishonored just "mogged" it too hard for it to succeed. If it hadn't come from the Dishonored people it would have done fine
>>
>>727794371
I played it without powers and it was one of the worst games I've ever played
>>
>>727799015
>miles more advanced than
fix
>>
>>727796418
>all the police die
>wtf why is my city a lawless hellhole
>>
Is the D2 + DotO bundle worth it? Or should I just get Prey and its DLC instead?
>>
>>727799520
Dishonored 2 is very good despite all its glaring flaws.
DOTO's worth is a matter of debate.
>>
>>727799520
Prey is literally one of the best immersive sims ever made. It's up there with Dishonored 1 and System Shock 2.

>break leg

>while wearing headphones
>>

There were leaks suggesting another Dishonored is in the works after the M$ acquisition of Zenimax.
>>
>>727794371
The only ending that makes sense to me is the one where Emily dies, I don't even see the point in saving the kingdom. What hurts story the most is that you are playing a supposedly good guy in a game with such gameplay and atmosphere. It would've been much better if the protagonist was either a criminal or a shady passerby caught in the events.
>>
>>727799520
2 is still great. The setting and characters are just worse than 1.
I love the core of Dishonored so much that I still like DotO, but it's definitely a big drop from the other two. The only good level was the bank heist.
>>
>>727794371
The moral of the story is showing restraint when given power, which is something that not everyone can do. This is why The Outsider is actually most impressed when you don't use his powers to kill and cause mayhem.

>>727800724
>The only ending that makes sense to me is the one where a father lets his own daughter die.
>>
>>727796717
just wanted to make a cool world i guess
>>
>>727794371
The problem with Dishonored is that it has the some of the best level design in the series but naturally the fewest mechanics. Daud's bolts for combat scenarios or 2's nonlethal drop takedowns would be a game changer.
Also some of the dunwall city trials are pretty bland or have weird annoying carveouts for their scoring systems.
