I've been playing it for over a week. The writing and story is one of the most mediocre things I've ever experienced. However the gameplay is comfy, and the mechanics of the sandbox are in a class of its own. This is the pinnacle of it's fun with friends, or have a couple beers while you game. You need to dull your senses to make the plot acceptable while you tear up enemies with complex character builds.

It would be a dream come true if the base campaign was remade from the ground up. That way there could be more side content that ties back together. The world building is phenomenal, it's just you're shuttled through a basic plot in a really cool setting.

The Asypr "Enhanced Edition"?
It's shit for the price and adds extra bugs on top of the already existing bugs they didn't even bother to attempt to fix.

The game itself? It's "Okay, but Mask of the Betrayer expansion is fantastic.
Storm of Zehir is a fun idea that doesn't really work that well.

As far as the "Enhanced Edition" remaster, it seems like they largely abandoned it because they made their money already.

Pirate the original. It's really only "good" because of Mask of the Betrayer.

NWN2 was the first game I put over 1000 hours into. Its breddy guub

I like it because of overhauled ui, and albeit locked to the controller support which I thoroughly am enjoying. It plays legitimately great with a controller.

Get the GOG non-enhanced editino version and mod it.
The Enhanced Edition is pure hot shit taht is more buggy than the OG.

i heard the game is extremely janky.

If you want to play on Steam Deck, the controller support in EE greatly improves how the game looks, feels and plays. But EE also bloats the game's size and loading times.
Otherwise it's more or less as playable as the original NWN2, minus the bug that used to fuck up movement animations if your PC was running for too long. Though they added a few new minor bugs.

>Neverwinter Nights 1 gets a fucking fantastic Enhanced Edition which is still being updated and supported to this day
>Neverwinter Nights 2 the game that REALLY needed fising gets an absolute trainwreck of an "Enhanced Edition" that is already abandoned.

Beyond fucking mad. A God tier Enhanced Edition unironically would have made NWN2 one of the best CRPG's around.

I think the difference is that NWN1 EE had a few former people who actually worked on OG Bioware stuff and had some level of passion for it. I legitimately really like the "cartoon outline filter" thing you can customize, it really helps the older models look decent (just on as aesthetic level ignoring all the bug/code fixes and optimizations for a second)

NWN2 EE was just a cash grab by Aspry, like their colossal fuckup of a KotOR2 remaster for the Switch was.

It's mid, if you like CRPGs you might enjoy it but there are better games out there

>fantastic Enhanced Edition
it's okay
