Starting in 1337 was a mistake. It was all done so that you could experience the Hundred Year's War but let me tell you my Hundred Year's War experience
>Be France
>Ally Castile
>Build a shitload of roads for two decades
>Get a random CB on the English
>Conquer all English lands in France in one war, inexplicably also bite into Aragon which allied the English
>It's now 1360 and there's nothing to do but Big Blue Blob everywhere
>Oh and also the Black Death nukes your population during this time
It's not fun. Was there some Hundred Years War nerd at Paradox that insisted people would find it THAT compelling?

On what patch did you play it?
In 1.0.10, French vassals can flip to the Plantagenets and put your cock and balls in a hydraulic press, no more vassal swarm.

I'm on 1.0.09. I don't play beta patches. But even then I give my vassals and nobility whatever they want to keep them calm; that's how I always play for the first fifty years or so
