>Skyward Sword at the top

Assuming this isn't a shitpost, I'm actually curious what draws you to it so much anon?

>Assuming this isn't a shitpost
It's not. I had that opinion back in 2011 when I first played it, and I hold that opinion now after all these years.

It is the most refined essence of the dungeon experience of Zelda which to me has always been its biggest draw and why I want to play it. You have a hub area that you return to for town interactions which are very fun and filled with interesting individuals that advance through their own personal storylines as the game continues, making an evolving town that you actually care about as opposed to visiting one town in an RPG once and talking to 6 NPCs that tell you how to open your item menu and cure poison. When you hit the ground, it's a pure essence of a dungeon experience, solving puzzles to progress, opening alternative pathways, and generally having something to engage with at every turn.

I find that most people that tend to complain about it fall into two camps:
1. They just hate the motion controls. Some of them can be skilled at it but just hate the concept of it entirely, but I think most of them just can't figure it out and stop applying themselves to it.
2. Wanted the Skyrim/Breath of the Wild style of game and were mislead, but others or themselves, into thinking that this is what Zelda was supposed to be about despite the last 14 games leading up to it being the opposite of that.

Fair enough. There's value/good aspects in most Zelda games, and opinions can vary wildly. It's why you can have one person with WW as their favorite title while another has it as one of their least favorites. Which then begs the question, is there truly a "terrible" game in the series if it one title resonates so much with someone that they think it's a 9-10/10 experience while his cousin thinks it's shit and a 4/10 experience.

I think this is why Zelda has so much appeal and occupies so much thought space. I was thinking about this the other day, but there are arguments whether or not Zelda innovated Z-targetting for video games, among other things that it's tried to innovate, yet people always tend to think about Zelda first even if the other games that innovated "first" were popular games for their time and even now. Zelda just has this impact/feel to it that I think touches everyone.

I'd swap TP and WW, but otherwise it's fine. As long as MM is on top, it can't be too bad a list.

Pretty good list, bro. I'd just bump the oracle games up.

No, but mine pisses off most of /v/ something fierce. They cannot stand how objective I am with my critique.

Skyward Sword is a weird one for me. It's a strong contender for having the best supporting cast in a Zelda game, the town is great, and the dungeons are all good. Despite all that, I didn't like it. Fi was annoying, but that's not really the issue. I think it might just boil down to poor pacing, but it's been so long that I really don't remember why.

TOTK belongs in C tier, otherwise alright list

I have never played a Zelda game in my life.

It's going to be interesting to see what the team does next. They have a habit of over-correcting from the previous game. This time however, they are starting with a completely new slate and are presumably throwing all their physics stuff from BotW/TotK away. We have no idea what the next game will look like. Echoes may(?) be a sign of how the next game will look. And it did some things well, like optional areas with familiar bosses that dropped Heart pieces, while also having heart pieces in caves. The Faron Dungeon was also quite good. I guess we'll see in w/e preview we get for the 40th anniversary.

>Majora's mask in anything but F tier
>Skyward Sword not in the same tier as Twilight Princess when they are the same game with a different color palettes

I wouldn't say it angers me, but its definitely wrong. The only good thing is Minish Cap in A

>>727802352
Not really. I don't even care for the zelda series.
