I don't play online or mod my games that often and I've been strictly PC since 2013. There's very few reasons for me to switch to console now even despite ballooning prices. It's just convenience. If you plan on getting into it, wait and see what happens with RAM prices first. RAM is as much as a mid-range GPU right now.
