Would Phoenotopia have done better if it was easier? Half the bad reviews say they hate it because it's hard.Would it have done better in the current wave of hard games?
>>727806496This game isn't even hard. And it's actually got some of the best sort of "childhood wonder" vibes I've experienced in a game the past 15 years.Anyway yeah maybe. People are retarded. The hard game vibe might not be actually active anymore though
>>727806496The game would have done better if they hadn't balanced shop prices around exploring around to find secrets, and if the first town wasn't a huge multiple screens long and full of conversations you need to read to do quests and find secrets. And I'm not saying it's bad, just that it would have done better among casuals that way.
>>727806496Maybe, probably not. He added accessibility options which don't affect your achievements or whatever, although there are a lot of complaints about the club being too short which isn't something that could be changed without rebalancing the game.
>>727806496Its more tedious than difficult, and the jumping controls aren't the greatest on top of timed switch sections so that might be where the perceived difficulty comes from.It would have been better if the game was actually finished and didn't just fucking end halfway through that one cyberdome-esque dungeon because they ran out of budget and had to cutscene storytime the rest of the fucking game you didn't get to play.I really cannot stress how much that ending soured what was already me powering through a mediocre at best platformer in hopes it gets good later.
>>727806496The game unfortunately needs a retard proof map and a quest log to do numbers. I greatly enjoyed the game but I can totally see how it would be a bit much for the unwashed mass to pay attention and remember dialogue to do a task
