No sprites was already a hard sell, and made me skip 6 entirely in favor of DRPG (rip EN servers); bought 7 in a game drought and it was... decent. Hated how instead of grinding you were incentivized to game the gacha roll thingy over and over.Now they are making what looks like the most braindead musou ever with complete sandbag enemies and I'm not even wanting to try. I've watched all the trailers and not once did it look like the enemies were pushing back in any meaningful way. Something like a 2D action side-scroller would be a more appropriate spinoff for Disgea. Yeah there was Prinny but instead, make a class based game that lets you control generics and fight with them. Relink does have some trash enemies like that but the game is more focused on larger monster, making it far closer to Monster Hunter. The size of the trash mobs you fight in Relink are generally way smaller than what you encounter in musou as well.

They're all pretty similar at a glance, and can often share some mechanics, but anyone who plays any of them at those furthest corners can pretty easily tell them apart. Some games don't huddle all the way into one corner though, and wander a bit out into more central ground. Maybe this is a musou that transitions into a monster hunter for bosses. Maybe it's a monster hunter or souls, with one or two weapon classes or playstyles that feel more like a character actionI remember, the Berserk musou was an interesting case, where if you were playing as Guts it was a musou, but with any other character it was much closer along the triangle to something like a monster hunter. I have no idea what the exact center of this triangle is off the top of my head, besides it probably being pretty dull.

All disgaea threads are the same at this point. I used to not care for anons complaining about the 3d (which isnt that bad), but the gacha that still runs to this day STILL churns out new characters and alts using the older 2d style which is baffling.I forgave D7 for not being as SHIT as 6 but that new Phantom Brave was absolutely terrible. Its 100% clear NIS is no where near the same as it was years ago.
